"Lasted 2 years after warrany then died."
Lasted 2 years after the 5 year warrany expired then both blowers failed and cost 1/2 the price of the unit to repair. Will not buy again.

"3-2005 Freedom 90's all junk"
Had 3 of these installed in grand parents 3 family home late in 2005 when oil spiked to $3 a gallon. All but one have been replaced so far. The one that gets the least use in grandparents apartment is only one still lumping along. Had to replace 2 with goodman 95% this winter because the american standard heat ex-changers cracked and the burner fans melted. Of course they are already out of the 5 years warranty so they are trash now, the complete goodman units were less than a new heat exch from american standard. And the contractor only charged $1000 installation each because they were a direct fit. I paid almost $18,000 to have the old oil furnace taken out and have these american standards installed. They only lasted 7 years, american standards are junk, will never get them again. Go with the cheapest high efficiency you can get. Nothing is made to last anymore. Don't expect to get more than 10 years out of a new furnace, this is what a 30 year contractor told me, they are all cheaply made now with thin sheet metal and plastic parts. So hope fully I will have the last american standard freedom 90 taken out this summer because now the combustion fan is squealing and leaking water on the floor, what a junk!

"I am very happy with my American Standard Gold ZM"
The new furnace reduced temperature swings and helped to lower my heating bills by 47%. Thanks to the 2 stage heating, running at energy- saving 65 percent capacity more than 80 percent of the time, 97 % efficiency. I do agree it can be the installer who messes up. The company I hired showed me several things the installer from the old furnace did totally wrong. They fixed it all at no extra costs. For example the fresh air intake was too close to the exhaust and the old furnace sucked in a mixture of pollutant with oxygen. That caused the body inside the old furnace to roost and deteriorate. The heat has never been more comfortable than now with my 2-stage Gold ZM furnace.

"Company Should go Under"
Have 3 American Standard High efficiency furnaces Freedom 90. Only 7 years old. One failure of fan and control module. One failure of motor. $3200 dollars of repairs. When contacting American Standard told that unless serviced every 6 months (!!!!) that this can cause early failure of components. No responsibility for manufacturing failure. On opening furnace very clean. Obvious failure of product. Probably why few American Standard furnaces are installed in Alberta. Would recommend any other company.

"Wouldn't Buy Again"
Installed our furnace on Christmas Day in 2006. We asked for the very best available because our first furnace died after just 7 years in a brand new home. In the past 5 weeks I've had service out 3 times. First because the blower worked, no heat. But now we have heat and no blower. $1,800 to fix the motor and one other part. Do your research and buy something else!

"American Standard 96% high efficient furnace"
I installed an American Standard two stages variable speed furnace in May 2006. It has been a reliable and efficient unit in the six years it has been in operation in my home. The furnace motor is very quiet and the heat distribute very evenly to my house. It solves some of my cold spots that I have on my old furnace.

"Run and hide"
My thermostat manual disappeared and I needed to find out some information on it. Easy right? In today's connected world it should be easy. No way - their web site says contact the dealer. The dealer says 7 days for a new manual. Are you kidding me! Thank God it wasn't something broken or I would have been up the creak. Instead I get a system that can't be changed because they are to stupid to put the manuals on their website. Meanwhile I can download an operations manual for my $15 clock from Walmart in 30 seconds.

"All models are Trane"
We install all units -- but, I can't recommend any Trane systems with all the problems we come accross in the field. A lot of the systems have break downs within the first 5 years. 3 out of 5 systems for some reason have restrictions found.
