The Freedom 80 AUD furnace includes units in American Standard’s Silver, Gold and Platinum product lines. This series offers up to 80 percent AFUE and is manufactured in single-stage, two-stage or variable-speed gas-fired furnace options, depending on the product line. The AUD is available only in an upflow/horizontal configuration.
All models in this line are manufactured with an insulated steel cabinet for enhanced unit protection, heat retention and dampened operating noise. A multi-speed blower also helps keep noise levels to a minimum.
Although enhanced features vary between American Standard’s product lines, an aluminized heat exchanger, hot surface igniter, in-shot burners and self-diagnostic control system are components of all models of this unit.

"worst upgrade ever!!!!!"
I upgraded to a forced air/air conditioning system form a burnham steam boiler system. I thought the steam system was a pain to add water all the time and drain out the rust from the boiler. Every year we had to tighten the valves and nuts on the radiators, and they always seemed to leak a little.. I thought this was it, a high efficiency gas furnace and high efficiency air conditioning I would never have to pay for repairs again. WOW!!!!! Was I wrong, I paid $12,000 to have this system installed in my small cape sytyle house 1,100sq. feet, and have had 29 service calls in 2 years and the heat and ac have been out over 2 dozen times. I paid out of pocket $4,000.00 for repair labor not cover under warranty, in addition to $300 annual service contract which basically covers a cleaning and ac checkup. I would have never replaced this steam boiler which was only 7 years old if not conviced by the gas company energy audit that I would never have a problem for 20 years on a new system. They were dead wrong. Lost the heat the first month after install , was a bad circuit board , we froze fro a week while they got a board from canada. Very< Very, VERY, disappointed. Freedom 80 AUD Warranty
American Standard provides a lifetime or 20-year limited warranty for the heat exchanger (depending on the specific model) and a 10-year limited warranty on all other remaining parts. The furnace must be registered within 60 days of installation to receive the full amount of coverage; failure to do so results in a base limited warranty.
