"Simple and Awesome"
I don't know the model. It is an Amana and it is awesome. I installed it when I moved in 12 years ago. It is a very simple single stage, high efficiency (92%) furnace. Simple to do preventative maintenance yourself. I do have to swap out the blower motor which will be a breeze. 4 screws, 2 hoses that just push on, and an electric connector that is a push on. The only issue is to make sure you blow out (with your mouth) the couple of water hoses that can jam with ladybugs (happened to me once). It is a little loud since its a single stage high efficiency, inexpensive, easy to maintain. I'd rather have simple and reliable than complicated and delicate. I think Amana got sold so don't know about current quality but the one I have is great. Now I have to replace the AC, not many good reviews on any of them. ick.

"Great Furnace..."
Great furnace, one of the best units I proudly offer to my commercial clients. I am using it for almost 5 years with a technical glitch which I service from Bergen (973-779-9977). Meanwhile, a good furnace at all.

I am so happy to select best furnace for my home heating system. Amana furnace is matchless with other furnaces. In Toronto I got best services of Clean Air Heat (905-201-1293). I am now enjoy this winter my Amana furnace.

"Solid unit for a long time"
Primarily thrilled with the stainless steel heat exchanger and unit replacement warranty that comes with it. Got a very good parts and labor warranty and it's provided good heat with no issues so far. Furnace and AC are both a good bit quieter as well. I'd recommend Amana to anyone.

"Great company installers"
Had Northern Continental, Crystal Lake, Illinois install furnace and humidifier on 10/18/12. Have to say we are extremely satisfied with promptness, price options, and clean up. All is operating at great comfort. Hope to see utility prices drop since old Sears furnace was 30 years old....I'll swear by that unit also.

"3 years and working fine"
I see that a large number of unsatisfied users of Amana products, so it might be related to model type or installer expertise. However, my installer saw that I have one Carrier unit and this Amana unit. He said he prefers Carrier, but he was not specific about why. I recall that the installer had a little difficulty with the wiring of the thermostat: at first he said the fan would only come on with a call for heat or cool, but I wanted "fan on" for air circulation. He finally found the way to wire it for that functionality. Had a problem with over-pressure: it worked fine for a year, then all of a sudden it was shutting down due to the pressure switch. The technician released some puron to lower the pressure, and it worked fine since, but no one could explain how it became over-pressurized. Apart from those installation issues, the unit has operated well.

"Nothing better!"
We replaced an Amana system that was nearly 27 years old. I understand installation is the largest factor in how long a unit lasts but having a high quality piece of equipment doesn't hurt. The warranties are the best available and provide lots of piece of mind. a stainless steel heat exchanger with a lifetime unit replacement warranty... outstanding!

I had an Amana high efficiency gas furnace installed in my home last year. I was provided a 10 year parts and labor warranty and a lifetime furnace replacement warranty should the heat exchanger ever fail. what a deal! The furnace save me more than I was told it would and you can't beat the warranty

"11 Years to First Problem"
Had this 95 installed 10/4/00 by a local Heating & Cooling Contractor (also an Amana Dealer). It has performed flawlessly until the first minor problem today (blower cycles On-Off trying to run in "Fan Only" mode). I've been running the fan in auto low speed 24/7 for the last several years to circulate and HEPA filter the air. It still runs fine in normal fast (heating) mode so it's not completely broken - probably the controller board - I'm still investigating. I've never replaced even the igniter or any other component. Very reliable unit - I'd buy another Amana GUX-X without hesitation.
