"Amana Junk"
After only 40 months, my Amana high efficiency furnace crapped out. A weekend in the cold and $450 later, it now has a new circuit board and a pressure switch. These components should not fail after that time. The reason they fail is because they are Chinese-made junk. Those people have no quality control and Amana is greedy enough to buy their cheap crap. I am an electrical engineer and will always specify components made anywhere but China.

"very upset customer"
Hi! This unit is only 7 years, and am very upset. The warranty for this unit is only 5 years. This kind of appliance should have at least 15 years warranty. Amana should have free techician help, to advice the customer on what could be the problem and if it is a part, how much would it cost, etc. to avoid technician charging you more than they should charge. Like me, they changed a piece only to get a seal that comes with the new piece, and glue all around. Total cost for me is 500.00, only because I don't know much about it.

"AMANA should check its quality control"
The trouble started in 2009 and cost me $1,115. As I write this, I am quite certain after reading several other Amana reviews, that I am not alone in my dissatisfaction with my gcva two stage variable speed gas furnace. Imagine, only 8 years old and the whole thing is malfunctioning. So each morning, I climb down in the crawl space and hit the reset to get the unit to heat up. I refuse to give the total comfort contractor another dime. I'm stuck in Story, Wyoming.

This is a new furnace. It is really bad. My bedrooms are cold. Can't stop the cold air that comes from this thing. I have to keep the thermo on 73 just to heat my L. room. My heat bill has gone up. I paid cash for this thing. Cannot really call it a furnace....Just a piece of junk. Amana Yuck!

"Too Cold?"
I just had to replace the motor on this furnace to the tune of $600.00. The average furnace life in this area is 25-35 years. The answer to my complaint is that I live in a cold climate and that is probably why it broke down in only nine years. Boy, was that an insult and a slap in the face. The only consolation I have received is to see a majority of equally dissatisfied customers. Amana should be ashamed of their products. It was a very costly lesson for a senior on a fixed income.

"Amana High Energy Means No Heat --"
Bought the Amana High Efficiency Furnace 2stg ecm mtr (Model amv90704cx) from Direct Engery last April 2009. Since last Feb. 11, I have had 4 technicians come in and same problem! They say, the high level of condensation in the motor is the problem! Two new hoses (and many very cold days/nights), the problem still exists. How can a technician come in one night and we're freezing the next? Technician said this happens in cold weather. Wait a minute, that's when we need the furnace! Perhaps, we should be demanding a spec sheet with these furnaces that tells us the breakdown rate -- Yes, it should be mandatory. I want my money back and get that useless piece of metal out of the house.

"Very unsatisfied"
Chuck Johnson was from Pikes Peak sheet metal, installed and I have had problems. The install date was January 18th 2009, and I have made frequent calls to resolve my furnace operational issues. All calls made have been to no avail, and I continue to have problems with my furnace. You would think that a company like Amana would have a more reliable representative, representing the product. My name is Peter Maurer @ 719-392-0967

"Amana Furnace"
The blower went out and cannot be repaired. Only an Amana furnace blower will fit so we are waiting on parts. Do not buy a furnace your service technicians can't fix.

"Homeowner"
The Amana furnace that we purchased was recommended by the company that installed it in Toms River NJ. We had gone through 7 ignitors, 2 circuit boards, one gas valve and a dozen service calls in 5 years. 7 different technicians, as well as a factory engineer have checked it out last month. I woke up with no heat again. The company that did the install is telling me that the ignitor should be replaced every season, however, they are the only ones saying that, besides I never had an ignitor last a full season. Some of the ignitors failures maybe from oily hands, but not all. I now keep an ignitor by the unit. This is the worst furnace I have ever owned. I am afraid to go away for long periods of time, legal action will be the only resolve since the installer and Amana will not solve the problem. STAY AWAY FROM AMANA..... any positive reviews seem to be from either older units or from people who sell and service them.

"Amana furnance"
We are going on our fourth year with this horrible furnace. 13 service calls later, we are still frustrated that neither Long's Heating and Air Conditioning of New Jersey who installed the unit, nor Amana, will rectify the situation.
