"Will never buy an Amana again"
I have an Amana 90 Air command Gas Furnace. This heater has never worked right. It breaks down every year. It is loud and doesn't distribute the heat very well, even though every furnace repair company says it is install correctly.

"Reply to all reviews"
This is Jon Moon president of AAA Aire Heating & Cooling LLC. Amana is the worst furnace you can buy. Amana is made by Goodman. The lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger is standard with all makes. No one is going to use that warranty on the heat exchangers because after the labor warranry is over, it would be cheaper for you to buy a new furnace then to pay the labor to have it done. Everything in the furnace has to come out for the heat exchanger to come out and you are looking at a 5 hour job if they know what they are doing. All makes of furnaces use SS heat exchangers. Pat, give that furnace a year or two, it will need repair on the board or the vent motor. Any furnace is going to be more efficient then what you had. Diane, good point. Goodman has the loudest furnace on the market. Lennox has the loudest A/C and heat pumps on the market. If you own a Amana Sorry!

"ac and furnace"
EXTREMELY LOUD-- I am waiting to hear if something can be done about it. It is unacceptable! For such a big expense and investment it should not be this way.

"Amana Pinnacle is the worst"
I have a Pinnacle AMANA furnace for last 4 years. EVERY YEAR atleast twice I had to pay $130 technician to fix it. First it was Control Board. Next time it was something else. And the PINNACLE people's service is the worst. They dont care at all. It came with the house and IT IS THE WORST FURNACE AND PINNACLE IS THE WORST COMPANY.

"Model GUVA 2 Stage Variable Speed"
Installed by dealer 5/29/03. Every year I have a problem turning on the heat from AC. I've had to call for service every year for this problem. I've been told it is a wiring problem, but somehow it never gets fixed permanently.

"Amama Lemon"
We had an Amana amv9 furnace installed in our cabin when it was built. The furnace has never operated properly. When it works at all, it goes through many start cycles before it finally lights. The room temperature gets 10 to 15 degrees below the thermostat setting as it does this. Three different igniters have failed completely, and the entire control board has also been replaced. The furnace now does not work at all. Goodman (who bought the Amana brand) doesn't care. They did respond to a letter, but denied any responsibility. They will not even exchange parts under warranty unless they are installed by a licensed contractor, thus maximizing our expenditures on a furnace that simply will not work.

"So Far, So Good"
I replaced a 25 year old Payne Gas Furnace whose "a" coil had been slammed with dust and dirt from the previous home owner that did not install the air filters properly. The furnace sits on a platform in the garage - and there is only 72 inches total for the furnace, including the a coil. Amana appears at this time to be the only manufacturer that makes a 33" high gas furnace - the 40" units just would not fit.... So far, so good. The stainless steel unit (Million Hour Heat Exchanger) has run reliably - and the contractor was willing to use the existing condenser (Also Payne) that had been installed in 2005 - that cut the project cost by at least $3,500.00. Since the "a" coil can take the new r-410a if the external expansion valve is replaced along with the condenser. I purchased the 80% efficient unit because I did not want to have to go 2 stories with new exhaust ducting - and the unit shares the exhaust ducting with the water heater. Very happy thus far.

"Good luck if you own an Amana"
After having a reputable HVAC company install my Amana 4 years ago, I've had nothing but problems. It has always gotten repaired quickly but it has been problem after problem. No fault in the install according to other companies that have looked at it. More than one has said, "must have been built on a Friday". Just my luck....I plan on having a different brand installed as soon as I can.

"2 TON Amana Air Conditioning Unit"
Purchased my 2 ton unit last April (2009). Very loud, horrible sounding and blows newspapers on the floor and artificial flowers askew! Right after it was installed, it required 2 service calls to change the blower settings.....but still noisy when it comes on. It will wake you up!! I'm sleeping on the couch now because the unit is outside my bedroom window! I just had another service call because it's not cooling lower than 81. Unacceptable!!! I would like to blow this unit up, if I didn't still owe so much on it!!!
