"Our's won't last at this rate!"
Our Amana was installed 8 years ago and we had no problems the first few years. Then our motor started making noise and it only gets louder and louder as time goes on. Our furnace barely runs in the evening, but it pumps out heat all night long causing us to have $200+ gas bills in the winter. I hate our furnace and I hate the people that keep servicing it, it's a total con!

"AMANA sucks"
Don't buy it, after 5 years of a great furnace, it suddenly has intermittent failures and no one seems to be able to fix the problem, and of course it happened right after the warranty was up. I hate this furnace and wish I could afford to put a new one in my home. I even had an amana engineer at my house to look at it and after spending $268 dollars it wasn't the fix. I'm so ticked off.

"The first two years were fine"
The first two years for Amana Air Command 80 were fine after that, there has been a service call every year.

"Bad Furnace"
This is the worst piece of junk I have ever owned. Flame Igniter goes out every year, which makes for a nice service call.

"Don't buy"
This unit broke within a week. I have replaced everything but the motor: a coil, squirrel cage, heat pump, condenser, control pad, copper tubes and much more. I bought the so-called top of the line (worst heat and cooling unit ever heard of).

"Don't last"
All you folks happy with your newly installed beware. The workmanship is not good, and the fire tubes begin to leak carbon monoxide. These furnaces are not built to last! Then your dealer says Amana will warranty it but the install will cost you around $1500.00. The install is a 2 hour job at most and to top it all off the replacement furnace has no warranty! I can buy the same furnace on ebay for $600 with a new warranty and a Contractor will instal is for $300. No more Amana Crap for me!!

"Amana Nightmare"
I had a 15 year old furnace replaced with an Amana 95% variable speed unit. The sales rep went on and on about how the quality was second to none and the warranty being the best in the industry. I will sinmplify, all I have had is problems with it and it is 5 times louder than my original. Overall, I should have went with the American Standard unit and saved myself a great deal of pain. It seems now that I need to just spend th extra money and have this nightmare renoved from my home. I strongly recommend buyers to stay away from Amana/Goodman products. Note:It comes down to the installation company to a certain extent, afterwards its all dependant upon the system and how it was made!!!

Review:
"Sounds like a jet engine!"
Just replaced our 20 year old furnace with an 80% efficient Amana furnace. We were told it has great technology ... like a jet engine. I wish I could attach a sound bite to this posting ... because it SOUNDS like a jet engine. Installer came back and told us this is "normal" ... but we can hear this furnace - which is installed in our basement - while we are outside in our garage. Installer told us if we would have paid 50% more for the 95% efficient, that this unit would have been quiet. Not happy at all!!

Review:
"Never buy this furnace nothing but problems"
This is a very noisy furnace and doesn't give off much heat. Have had to have the motor replace on the exhaust after 5 years. Should have been replaced after 4 years but my son was able to keep it running an extra winter. For the price we payed for this furnace we would have been better off getting our old one fixed. It was in the house when we bought it and never had any problems and it was a very old furnace. As soon as I can save up enough money will have it replaced. Would not recommend Amana furnace to any one.

Review:
"Amana Heating Unit"
My experience: I had an Amana heating system with a Goodman air conditioner installed 8 years ago. Since then, I have had 4 service calls on the heater. Three times for problems related to the control panel, and once for a "wiring problem." I live in the Los Angeles area so I use the heater only occasionally during the winter months here (basically only Dec and Jan) . Consequently, I am not impressed with the reliability of the Amana heater. In fact, I ran across this site while searching for troubleshooting help, because this morning the heater would not turn on. The Goodman air conditioner, on the other hand, has been rock solid and has never needed repair, which is ironic since I use the air conditioner far more frequently than the heater.
