How FurnaceCompare.com got Started

I started FurnaceCompare.com in 2002 after I discovered that the 40-year old boiler in my basement was going to be remarkably expensive to replace. The first version of the site was pretty basic -- but in 2005 we began to invest in collecting and publishing very detailed information about different heating and cooling equipment -- everything from specs to consumer reviews to prices.
