"noisy pump bearing"
Installer had to fix bad factory wiring. Went well after that. After 1 year the red pump bearings sounded like they had sand. Weil-McLain didn't honor but supplier did. 1 yr later is noisy again. Will have to live with it. Gained efficiency, lost the quiet. Would have second thoughts on another purchase of Weil-McLain equipment.

"Possibly the best boiler I have ever purchased. Reliable, efficient, money saver!"
I have owned my Ultra Series gas boiler for about a year now. What I really like about the boiler is that it is efficient. Well-McLain includes Venturi mixing bodies in this piece of equipment which allows for gas and air to be combined more thoroughly. In times like these, efficiency is important. Another key factor that I like about this boiler is its reliability. No matter what the conditions, this boiler has always been reliable in times of need. What I dislike about the boiler is that the aluminum body dents easily. Thankfully, the dents are easy enough to pop out. If this boiler ever goes bad, which I doubt it will since it has not let me down so far, I would definitely buy the same brand again. If a friend was searching for a boiler, I would highly recommend Well-McLain boilers. They make quality boilers that are becoming more and more efficient.

"well, I'm happy enough."
It replaced an aero line brand that 45 years old. it's oil fired, the gold series. It's 85% efficient, which is great! It's only had one problem: customer service. they are AWFUL. but if you buy a Weil-Mcclain of any type, it should work fine.

"weil mclain"
We have a gas fired steam boiler, it replaced a similar weil mclain unit that was 20 plus years old, before it started to fail. The newer unit works well, but we have not noticed any reduction in gas consumption.

"New boiler for an old house"
20 years ago I replaced an old oil-fueled boiler with this natural gas unit. It is much smaller and quieter. I have had to replace about four hot-wire ignitors, usually on very cold days in Minnesota, but the system has performed very well for many years. The newer ignitors have a different shape so the frequency of replacement has gone down considerably. I have had no problems with valves (three zones) or controls (Honeywell). I would buy another Weil-McLain.
