"f-09 code"
Have had this boiler for just over 2 years. Since last may 2010 has not worked properly. Has F-09 error codee that flashes and the furnace shuts off. Have to reset this 2-3 times a day and we cannot leave home in the winter for more than a day or 2 or pipes will freeze. Installer does not seem to be able to fix this. Company seems clueless. Now may have to replace a 2 year old furnace, which I cannot really afford.

"Pinnacle High Efficiency Gas Boiler"
6 years ago I spent almost $10k to have a Pinnacle system installed in my home. In spite of its btu rating it struggles to keep my home warm. After only 3 years of operation the blower motor assembly failed- that cost me $1000. It seems to have a problem shutting itself down and I have to cycle power on the boiler to get it running again, especially if you are away from home during a cold winter. I called peerless directly and asked them if the system was ok to charge with antifreeze- could not get any meaningful answer. it's down again and i am thinking why should i spend another $1k or $2k to have it repaired. I will never buy another peerless

"T Krause"
We have owned this boiler for 4 years. It is such an oil hog!!! Now the cast iron observation door has cracked. What about the 10 year warranty on cast iron parts...you can only contact peerless through email and they say "contact your heating person". DO NOT buy their products unless you like huge oil bills and useless customer service for warranty. Maybe they are hoping I get discouraged and just pay to have it fixed.

"Do not buy- they are terrible"
We have had the unit for five years now and have nothing but trouble. They would not stand behind their unit even when the dealer said it has problems. They told me I should have purchased an extended warranty. Why?? It broke the first year and every year thereafter. Horrible customer service. Would NEVER BUY AGAIN! I have a second boiler..Munchkin..works great never down and was installed at the same time.

"Non-existent customer service"
I sent this letter to Peerless two times and received no response: April 9, 2010 Attention: Customer Service Good day. I sent an email a few days ago and had not heard anything so figured I would write you. I had my home in Franklin Lakes, NJ completely renovated from April 2005 to April 2006. We had a brand new Peerless Pinnacle gas boiler and water heater installed. Boiler Model # PI 199, serial # J04L0479, mfd 10/05 During the winter of early 2008, the boiler failed. We had to replace the Combustion Air Blower (stock code 91425). This was done under warranty. This past Sunday, April 4, 2010, the boiler again failed. We had to replace the same exact part of the system. Unfortunately this time, the part was no longer under warranty and we are out of pocket close to $1,000.00 for the service and replacement. We had been living in the house for 20 years prior to the ’06 renovation without a major boiler problem (not a Peerless). I have always thought of Peerless as a quality company and am very disappointed in this same part needing replacement two times in such a short time on a relatively new boiler. Please let me know if there is any recourse for me and also if this has been a recurring problem for Peerless as I am nervous about future issues as well as cost. Sincerely yours,

"Stainless Steel Gas Boiler"
I initially purchased this boiler and had it installed in my new house by a person knowledgeable in these types of boilers. The radiant heat system is great but the boiler is completely worthless. It's very unreliable. Fortunately, I have a backup forced air system for heat. Unfortunately, the hot water runs off the boiler. I have had the plumber out usually about every three months to replace something. This has included flame sensors, ignitors, vent fans, now recently the controller board. Actually, this has been replaced twice. This time, it was corroded. It also makes this loud noise that can be heard over 200 yards from my house. The customer service from the company has been non-existent. Never returned calls either to me, the distributor, or the installer. I have probably spent more money on this boiler than the original cost. This is truly a lemon. I would be happy to discuss this with anyone who is even remotely contemplating purchasing this product from this company.

"Maintenance Nightmare"
Purchased pi-199 in 2004 for radiant heat and hot water. Radiant heat is wonderful. The boiler is a piece of junk. In 2006, (dead of winter, of course) the blower motor died. $700. In 2008, the new blower motor wheel moved on the shaft. $700. Now (Feb 2010), it cuts out because of a fault error with the air pressure switch which from what I can tell is directly related to, you guessed it, the blower motor. Calling for service again tomorrow, completely disgusted.
