"good boiler"
I was an early purchaser of this lennox quantum 90 hot water heating boiler. I get better than 90% eff.with the cast aluminum heat exchanger. I replaced the ignitor once (the company recommended a more robust ignitor). The 5/8 in transparent vinyl water condensate drain tubing plugged once last week and when water reached the ignitor the boiler wouldn't start. The drain tubing needs to be checked/cleaned yearly. I have never had to do other than the above service in 12 years. Its a good boiler.

"90% - 95% condensing boilers"
I am a hvac contractor in Philadelphia that has 25 years of experience. Most of the complaints that I get from heating system failures are from poorly installed or abused equipment. If the installation and maintenance instructions are followed, then it is highly unlikely that a problem will occur. The condensing furnaces and boilers like all equipment have certain requirements that if not followed can lead to unreliable operation. For example, the pvc pipe vent size, and pitch back to boiler is important to drain condensate properly: the dielectric fittings are needed to prevent a catalytic affect and deterioration of boiler fittings: the improper set-up of a boiler can cause misfiring of the burner and cause sooting of any boiler or furnace. There are 50 ways to kill a boiler or furnace if not following recommended installation requirements. I know that most products are reliable, however when installed improperly they can fail regardless of brand.

"My home heating boiler"
I love my home boiler. This Dunkirk boiler has not had any problems since I've owned it (which has been over 5 years). The previous owners had this boiler for three years before my family moved in. This boiler gives me constant heat when I need it without tearing apart my check book. This boiler has also kept my check book in good shape, because I have not paid any repair bills for it.My boiler is a nice blue color, and not some poop color that i would want to hide. The size of my boiler is medium but it is a little too clunky, So I do not have a ton of space to work out and kill Nazi Zombies in my basement. Next time I will need a new boiler, Dunkirk will be my choice. I have never heard of Dunkirk boilers previous of my moving in, but I think I will remember it next time I think of boilers.

"Sad to see it go"
This gas fired boiler says Sears but it's manufactured by Dunkirk Radiator Corp, Dunkirk ny. (Model 229 960430, 120,000 btu) It was installed when the house was built 30 years ago and still works fine. We are looking at replacing it merely because of its age and(assumed)low efficiency. After reading many reviews of other boiler manufacturers we may try to keep it until the day it dies. It's quiet and dependable. I wonder if the new Dunkirk boilers are still made this good?

I acquired this boiler as a preowned unit. The previous owner replaced it with a furnace system. It was installed in November 2007 and has been functionig very well since.
