"Dunkirk is not solid"
Sears boiler certified by Dunkirk is no good. The original home owner installed the boiler in 2003. On January 28, 2008 the boiler blew smoke and soot all over my house, we could not breath. The boiler still has the warranty by Dunkirk. Both parties fail to help fix the problem. Dunkirk wants Sears to fix the problem, Sears does not want to fix the problem. Sears want us to pay them $4,145 to replace the boiler. Sears installed the boiler wrong which caused the boiler to crack. We have been without heat for 13 days, we are located in Huntsville.

"cannot light pilot light"
PWX-4vnb2 Cannot light pilot light. Called company. Technician stated that only a professional should light it. mmmmm Called professional, he did the work previously, he stated that there is a problem with design. He dismantles cabinet to light pilot light. Do you know when state government will close this company down?

"owner"
When my Lennox complete heat Failed for the last time in about 7 years, they pawned this piece of unreliable crap on me to replace it! What a mistake! Have gone through 2 or 3 ignitors and am on my second heat exchanger that is now leaking from poor casting in the side. Like the rest of you, they won't pay for any of the work to replace it and if I do, how long till the next one fails? Not long from my experience. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of these pieces of junk! A money pit if there ever was one.

"POOR PRODUCT"
Upon this boiler failing in our home almost causing an explosion, their company fails to make good and their answer is pass the buck. Do yourself and your family a favor and look at a company who stands behind their product not like DUNKIRK.

"Dunkirk Sucks! $25,000 Flood Insurance Claim due to this CRAPPY UNRELIABLE BOILER -DUNKIRK QUANTUM 90 ~~~~~"
This marks the fifth time this winter without heat / hot water. This is a common occurance at my house since we installed the Dunkirk Quantum 90. I am so sick and tired and even called the company to complain. I was told by the local distributor that they currently have close to a warehouse full of heat exchangers from these specific boilers b/c they are failing left and right. When I called Dunkirk they acted like they did not know what I was talking about, they acknowledged problems with their 1990 model year but said everything else is solid. Yeah, I can see that from all of the other reviews on this site (insert sarcasm here). My service company won't even sell this brand anymore just because of the problems he's witnessed with mine. Two years ago when the thing failed on a miserably cold day, I had a pipe break which flooded all 3 floors of my house and resulted in a $25,000 insurance claim. Do not buy this boiler, it's worth more as scrap metal than it is as a reliable heating device for your home.

Review:
"Absolute Crap....should be a class action against the manufacturer"
I've had this unit installed about 8 years ago during a home renovation. The gas unit came highly recommended by the plumber. Who said it was the top of the line gas unit. Since then we have had the unit replaced 3 times due to a cracked tank (in the process of going on our 4 unit replacement), and every year if the unit doesn't outright break there is some other problem with it. There is something seriously wrong with this unit and this company. In order to get the manufacture to replace the unit we have to deal with the initial plumber who installed it. Who has told us repeatedly not to bother him about the unit because he's gotten sick of dealing with it. We still end up have to pay him for the service install every time though. It's out right criminal of the manufacturer to put out a product with such a blatant design flaw. There seriously should be a class action against them.

"BROKEN AGAIN"
OKAY, SO I ASSUMED SOMETHING WOULD BREAK AGAIN AND IT DID. NOW I HAVE TO SPEND $798 TO REPLACE THE AQUASTAT RELAY. THIS PAST SUMMER MY MOM HAD A WHOLE NEW BOILER WITH INSTALLATION PUT IN AT $5,000. IF ONE MORE THING BREAKS ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP DUNKIRK BOILER, I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING. IT DOESN'T PAY TO KEEP SHELLING OUT $500 HER AND $700 THERE. I MAY JUST HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. WHAT A WASTE! I HAVE VERY, VERY ANGRY.

"3rd new unit in 4 years"
I installed a new Dunkirk Q90-200 boiler in September 2006 under a ConEd oil-to-gas conversion program and as part of a major home renovation. We have now had to change our boiler twice (in Sept 2008 and Nov 2010) when the aluminum block leaked. We have also had to change the igniter twice (in Oct 2007 and Dec 2008). To repeat, in four years we have had to replace our boiler twice and the igniter three times. While Dunkirk has replaced the units under warranty, I have spent $6000 on labor (and always used a Dunkirk referred plumbing company to do the installation, repair, and warranty work).

" 2.5 Year Old Boiler has Carbon Monoxide Leak after"
Quantum 90 was purchased April 28, 2008. I have had all the same problems as above. Now, after 3 years, it has a carbon monoxide leak, December 28 2010. Was told parts would be shipped overnight. They never arrived. Sears the installer then stated they would arrive January 31, 2011. After complaining to different people the seals were to be delivered January 7, 2011 and a service person would install the new seals. The new seals did not arrive January 7, 2011
