"VERY UNSATISFIED"
I was very happy to see that other people are also getting screwed by the Dunkirk Company!!! This will be our 3rd boiler in 6 years since we got the first one. They will not stand behind their product & are always first to blame the installer -- it could never be their product which is faulty (heaven forbid)!!! I always have the same installer (our plumber who has been in business for 25 years) do the work plus Dunkirk won't even come to the house to view the damage -- they always pass the buck to someone else. I would never recommend this Dunkirk 3es1.35c boiler to anyone!!!

"DO NOT BUY DUNKIRK"
This unit is not energy or cost efficient. It short cycles constantly because of wind affecting the concentric vent in the Rocky Mountains. The unit has gone through 3 ignitors, two induced draft blowers, which are noisy and vibrate like they are not rotationally balanced, and an air pressure switch. The customer service is awful at Dunkirk and they spend more time defending the product and blaming you for misusing it than trying to solve the problem...and they do not listen to you but rather tell or lecture you on your misdeeds. I was told the air pressure switch has a paper element inside and is subject to condensate or water damaging it and I must have installed the concentric vent improperly. This is pure bs..I disassembled the failed air pressure switch and the diaphragm is made of SILICON RUBBER. I tried to get replacement parts and Dunkirk referred me to their list of dealers and distributors and not a one of the companies I called had ANY parts and they all said they discontinued a relationship with Dunkirk. The rep in Denver gave me the same party line story about the air pressure switch having a paper diaphragm etc etc.....he has obviously never seen the inside of one...he also did not have any parts. Dunkirk refused to sell me the parts and I had to go through one of the authorized 'dealers' who would then only sell it to an hvac contractor. Two hvac contractors came to see the unit and spent most of their time bad mouthing Dunkirk and recommended that I scrap the unit and buy a competing brand. Both refused to work on the unit afterwards. I will not buy another Dunkirk.

"Dunkirk is not solid"
Sears boiler certified by Dunkirk is no good. The original home owner installed the boiler in 2003. On January 28, 2008 the boiler blew smoke and soot all over my house, we could not breath. The boiler still has the warranty by Dunkirk. Both parties fail to help fix the problem. Dunkirk wants Sears to fix the problem, Sears does not want to fix the problem. Sears want us to pay them $4,145 to replace the boiler. Sears installed the boiler wrong which caused the boiler to crack. We have been without heat for 13 days, we are located in Huntsville.

"My home heating boiler"
I love my home boiler. This Dunkirk boiler has not had any problems since I've owned it (which has been over 5 years). The previous owners had this boiler for three years before my family moved in. This boiler gives me constant heat when I need it without tearing apart my check book. This boiler has also kept my check book in good shape, because I have not paid any repair bills for it.My boiler is a nice blue color, and not some poop color that i would want to hide. The size of my boiler is medium but it is a little too clunky, So I do not have a ton of space to work out and kill Nazi Zombies in my basement. Next time I will need a new boiler, Dunkirk will be my choice. I have never heard of Dunkirk boilers previous of my moving in, but I think I will remember it next time I think of boilers.

Technician stated that only a professional should light it. mmmmm Called professional, he did the work previously, he stated that there is a problem with design. He dismantles cabinet to light pilot light. Do you know when state government will close this company down?

"owner"
When my Lennox complete heat Failed for the last time in about 7 years, they pawned this piece of unreliable crap on me to replace it! What a mistake! Have gone through 2 or 3 ignitors and am on my second heat exchanger that is now leaking from poor casting in the side. Like the rest of you, they won't pay for any of the work to replace it and if I do, how long till the next one fails? Not long from my experience. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of these pieces of junk! A money pit if there ever was one.

"POOR PRODUCT"
Upon this boiler failing in our home almost causing an explosion, their company fails to make good and their answer is pass the buck. Do yourself and your family a favor and look at a company who stands behind their product not like DUNKIRK.

"Dunkirk Sucks! $25,000 Flood Insurance Claim due to this CRAPPY UNRELIABLE BOILER -DUNKIRK QUANTUM 90 ~~~~~"
This marks the fifth time this winter without heat / hot water. This is a common occurance at my house since we installed the Dunkirk Quantum 90. I am so sick and tired and even called the company to complain. I was told by the local distributor that they currently have close to a warehouse full of heat exchangers from these specific boilers b/c they are failing left and right. When I called Dunkirk they acted like they did not know what I was talking about, they acknowledged problems with their 1990 model year but said everything else is solid. Yeah, I can see that from all of the other reviews on this site (insert sarcasm here). My service company won't even sell this brand anymore just because of the problems he's witnessed with mine. Two years ago when the thing failed on a miserably cold day, I had a pipe break which flooded all 3 floors of my house and resulted in a $25,000 insurance claim. Do not buy this boiler, it's worth more as scrap metal than it is as a reliable heating device for your home.

"Absolute Crap....should be a class action against the manufacturer"
I've had this unit installed about 8 years ago during a home renovation. The gas unit came highly recommended by the plumber. Who said it was the top of the line gas unit. Since then we have had the unit replaced 3 times due to a cracked tank (in the process of going on our 4 unit replacement), and every year if the unit doesn't outright break there is some other problem with it. There is something seriously wrong with this unit and this company. In order to get the manufacture to replace the unit we have to deal with the initial plumber who installed it. Who has told us repeatedly not to bother him about the unit because he's gotten sick of dealing with it. We still end up have to pay him for the service install every time though. It's out right criminal of the manufacturer to put out a product with such a blatant design flaw. There seriously should be a class action against them.
