"Premature Blower Failures"
I have FMC 120 running for 4 and half years onward. There have been 3 failures which cost $1,700 in repair charges. The first blower failed prematurely after 20 months, the second just failed 30 months later and the Tyco 0014 main circulatory failed at 50 months. The installation conforms to all the manual specifications, however the vent and supply 3″ pipes calculate out to 53′ vs. the max limit of 55&#8242. To Burnham’s credit, they reimbursed me for the first blower failure and I have a request for the second. The service representative are on the phone to Burnham, 10 minutes after they arrive to trouble shoot and even then they do not get it right for the first time. I had to find the blown Tyco pump myself and kept the service representative from installing a new control board which was not the problem. Has anyone else had premature blower failures and figured out how to prevent them?

"Coil leak after 12 years"
I am not in the business. I got my kv73 in 2001 after my original Federal failed after 34 years. I had a contract with petro oil and this is what they offered. I heard these were notorious for early failure. Boiler itself ok but I developed a lead in the dhw coil costing be near $500 to replace. Dont know if that is a result of my crappy water or the coil itself. The Federal coil lasted 34 years before the whole thing died. Not happy....

"Qualified Plumbing Inc"
I installed an Alp 150 gas boiler which has the same problems as the previous review . I spoke to technical support and they told me the boiler has to be set up with special equipment to eliminate this fog horn condition. As the previous review said they tried everything to eliminate this noise to no avail. I've installed many boiler and never had this problem.

"Cracked boilers"
I had a Burnham boiler installed in 1998. In 2003 the boiler was found to be cracked, and had to be replaced. It was under warranty, but still cost me $800. This year the replacement boiler was found to be cracked, and the unit was condemned as unsalvageable. This is not a make that I would recommend to anyone.

"Draft fan whine"
The draft fan tip speed creates a whine not too unlike that of a spinning top. Noticeable, especially at night, the sound is annoying, and can disrupt sleep. I have tried many ways to stop or truncate the noise to no avail. Even contacted the Burnham CEO for help. Nothing has worked. Has a solution to this problem been found?

Review:
"Bad product"
I have a 10 year old Burnham PV7 boiler and it leaks. The heating co I use tells me this happens all the time. I don't know how they get away with it. The block leaks and I am told they cannot replace it and I need to buy another boiler. Another great American product. Does any one have any advice on how to deal with Burnham? I would be happy to join in on a class action suit

"Hoping for the best"
I had my oil company install the unit back in Nov of 2004. They have serviced regularly every November since. Last week I was told that at some point the unit leaked internally and that they are contacting Burnham to have the unit replaced. Not sure what will happen here but I'm not very optomistic based what I've read on this site....Keep you posted!

Review:
Got it in 1983 a burnham steam boiler. 23 yrs later the heat exchanger rusted out on top so bad the steam was going out the flue and soaked through the chimney and ruined my walls and burnham said they will not replace it. I had a lifetime warranty on this unit. I told my friend about this and he canceled his order from burnham for a water boiler. I will never buy a burnham again.
