"BURNHAM"
Love my "made in U.S.A." burnham BOILER!!!(10yrs old)and I live near dunkirk. Have been in the heating bussiness since age 10 with my dad(im 38).Went on to do comm and indust work on much larger boilers.Have seen may installations.90% of residential/light commercial installations are incorrectly installed.(they work- but not properly) Sounds like the failures on this site are mostly oil fired.I Now own my own buss. and service/install only gas boilers-NO problems!!!

"3rd Burnham Boiler goes in 10 years"
We have now gone through our 3rd Burnham Boiler as of this week and will not be in our new home 10 years until Dec. Each time we have noticed a large puddle appear almost over night. Even with a hose on the pipe, the drain cannot take the amount of water flowing. Will be calling Burnham on Monday and filing small claims against the company. I can see one failed system because of a flaw, but two was rediculous and three is getting to us.

"homeowner"
I purchased Oil Fired mpo147 87%, had a Tekmar 260 installed with it. I Had a V84(3yrs) before and was happy with it, but I'm ecstatic with the mpo I've saved 30% on my Oil Bill. I went from 1,000-1,100 Gallons to 750 gallons the first year and 800 gallons this year(it was colder this year). Yes Burnham has had some problems but I'm being told that their failure rate is now 4 bad out of a Million.

"Terrible product, terrible company"
Suprise, suprise. Same exact leaking problem with my v7 as everyone else. No warranty coverage, not the original owner. a good company would have recalled a shoddy product with major, wide-spread manufacturing defects. Burnham should be standing behind their brand-name, and products, not hiding behind their warranty. You would think that they would get the picture after all the oil providers stopped selling their product, and after seeing all the unhappy, former Burnham customers calling, emailing and posting on this website. I also will never buy another Burnahm product.

"Company does not stand behind its produce"
Don't worry about being shafted as the second owner. First owners get shafted as well. Replaced old furnace with a Burnham 11 years ago. Recently it started leaking all over my family room floor (furnace installed right next to fr) When the fuel oil company came to check on it (same company that installed it and maintains it every year) discovered it had a crack in it. Piece would need to be replaced. After conversations with friends in the business, I learned that Burnham has problems with boilers manufactured in 1996-97 and all of them leak sometime or the other. Why didn't they do a recall when this was discovered? Why wait until customers have problems and then say oops - your problem? Personally, I am reporting Burnham to the bbb and Consumer's Report. Sloppy business from a company purporting to be professional.

"7 Year Boiler - think twice"
I have a Burnham v8, and I would caution anyone and everyone against buying Burnham. Mine was installed in January 2002, one year before I bought my house. It was installed by the oil company I have continued to use (Petro), so there has been continuity. This is a 7 year old boiler, and it should have a life of 25+ years, but it has a fatal internal leak. Petro says it needs to be replaced for $7k. Petro is offering nothing, despite the fact that they installed it and have "maintained" it. Burnham's worthless warranty did not transfer with the house. Petro wants to replace it with another Burnham! Fat chance! More likely I will replace it with another brand, and replace Petro too.

"Burnham V8 2 cracked block castings"
Installed v8 model in new house in 2001. Morning of departure for Florida trip(3/09) found water around base of unit. immediately called local heating service, discovered cracks in 2 of 4 block cast assy'S. Replaced entire unit with Crown. Service knew of Burnham problems. With years of experience with Wheil McClaine, Beudaris, and others, never experienced this type of inferior product quality longevity. Now to see if Burnham will provide some level of consideration.

"Burnham Boilers Suck"
A new Burnham boiler was installed in 2001 and after 8 years we have to replace the block. The installation was made in Wellesley, ma and Burnham is blaming the water in Wellesley. The issue resides in their casting quality between 1999 and 2002 from the data I have seen on failures. As a company, they have no integrity to honestly address their quality issue. I will never buy a Burnham Boiler again. This company has no integrity in owning up to their responsibility.
