"Nice and Comfortable, No worries."
We're going on 2 years with our Trane Split-system ac -ac only, no heat. I did hours and hours of research prior to going with Trane. My installer actually only sells and installs Trane systems now because of issues in the past with Goodman, Carrier, etc. Granted, not every unit from the factory is perfect, I realize this but when my installer started getting multiple call backs from Customers after installing other brands, he'd have to fight with the ac vendor to get parts. This all changed when he went to Trane. Granted, he had some minor issues here and there but they are significantly less with Trane. Do yourself a favor and check the installer ratings/references and when you get quoted, go with Variable speed motor. We got a Trane xb13 (Because the energy savings from the xb13 to xb14 wasn't substantial enough) and the Hyperion XL tam7 handler. We couldn't be happier with our Trane system.

"Top notch"
There isn`t a central a/c brand out there that doesn't have a bad review. $10,000 goes to some one that can show me one. A lot depends on the contractor. This unit does the job. It's 119 in the summer in AZ. In 2007 they sold out to Ingersol Rand. Has to be serviced twice year for free. It's a crap shoot on any product or brand. We had them all replaced in the past year. TV-washer-refrigerator-toilet. The digital thermostat is good. Had it replaced though. Two compressors are energy efficient.

"Cool Man!!!"
It was 104 outside & my 15 year old Trane xl-15i electric air- conditioning system has my house at 75 inside! I bought a new Trane XV-80 gas furnace 15 years ago as a package as well. I change my filters every 60 days and that is it! Never had any problems with my Trane system! I guess they were right when the mechanic said to me "It is hard to stop a TRANE" The company that put my system in also gave me all the required permints and had the county inspector take a look at the instalation as well. "Great Results"
Since its most common for people to complain when taking the time to enter a review. I thought I would add some balance. We replaced a Carrier System that was less than 8 years old. The entire Carrier System was a nightmare. We've had the Trane System 4 years now. It's been perfect. The Installer has been fantastic (they did not install the original system). The number one problem with hvac systems is the quality of the installation company and the service they provide. The installer noted almost a dozen mistakes with the installation of our original system that they said contributed to the issues we had. These issues included Return Air Duct not sufficient, electrical wiring issue with a/c compressor, a/c tonnage too low for house load, leaking drainage from a/c that was rusting the burner and causing issues with blower, thermastate was in bad place in house(too much direct air), etc... I know no brand is perfect, what you want to be sure is that you find a reputable installer who will backup their installation.

"Many good years..."
After 26 years it is now time to replace our Trane... after reading all these reviews on here I am at a complete loss of what brand to go with. Seems like every brand has bad reviews. They sure don't make them like they used to.

"Just 3 Service calls in 33 years"
Never had yearly tuneups. Repairs made were minor. I now need to replace this unit but fear that they don't make them like they used to. This is a concern based on the reviews on this web site

"It's not all in the brand"
I have owned a Trane 14 seer a/c for ten years and it works great that's not because it's a Trane it's because I installed it correctly. 90% of failures are because of bad installation. The Trane unit has the best out of box quality dollar for dollar that I have seen in the 30 years I've been a service tech. Heavy sturdy cabinet spine fin coil and tranes compressor is the best around. They are quiet and efficient.

"Nate certified technician"
Just want everyone to know, that 98% of all unit failures are due to systems not being installed properly, not just with trane, its with carrier, heil, goodman, etc. Been in the air business, for 28 years, and I have installed all brands and I haven't had a problem with trane or carrier, no major break downs at all, very , very few, it's all in how it's installed, did they purge the lines with nitrogen when they soldered, did they cover the txv when they soldered so not to damage the txv, if they didn't it will cause the txv to stay permanently closed and blow the compressor out, don't always point the finger at the machines.

"Happy With the Trane Ultra Efficient A/C"
I am pleased with this central air conditioning unit. The ultra efficiency XL20i is billed as a top-of-the-line unit and so far it lives up to expectations. We have had this cooling system for 2 summers. It is very quiet compared to our old unitâ€"so quiet in fact that we never hear the motor engage or know by listening alone whether it's on. The house, however, stays evenly cool. The best part is that indoor humidity is reduced with this model which for where we live (NJ) is a major plus. Efficiency is also important. Although this model cost more than our previous (adjusting, we'll say, for inflation) our utility bills are noticeably lower, which over the course of the five-six months (roughly) that the AC is used makes a significant difference. The model is fairly sleek and durable, less an eyesore than the big clunkers out there. So far we have not had any problems and I would definitely recommend it to a friend, however bear in mind this is a new system and problems at this stage would be unlikely.
