"broken twice within 3 months"
Less than 3 months old and have had the unit go down twice. The unit has a leak in a line that was aluminum so the ac company had to replace that part, since it was Saturday morning, could not get fixed until Monday. 2 days in a hotel and the blame went from Trane Manufacturing blaming the distributor and distributor blaming Trane. We had to take the expense. a week later one of the 2 stages went out (high) another week to get fixed. Trane just trying to blame everyone but themselves while we eat the out of pocket costs of living in hotels.

"How to stop a Trane, install it."
Due to manufacturing problems, two copper pipes where left touching each other. One pipe rubbed the other creating a hole and empting the system, $350. I called Trane and was told that due to the age the warrente had expired and the installer should have cought the problem so they could do nothing. On top of that the orifice that injects the freon into the unit was to small for the unit. I would never purchase a Trane again.

"TRANE's WORSE SYSTEM EVER!"
Our Trane unit has been our worst nightmare ever. We have spent Thousands of dollars in repairs for our unit and it keeps breaking down on us!If there is a law suit, please count me in. They owe all of us $$ and explanations as well as a solution. Expansion Valve had to be replaced last yr. Our condenser coils had only been working at 30% capacity since we bought it !Now one year later same problem. Lukewarm air coming out only!I am not rich . I cannot afford to spend all this money on repairs and parts.

"Nothing stops a Train. About anything stops a Trane"
Two words to describe the Trane brand: Total Crap 20 years ago Trane was the brand to beat, now its like dodge/crystler of the 80s... I've had my 'new' unit 2006 serviced 9 times and my inlaws have had their Trane fixed more than I have!

"XR15"
Replaced a 7 year old Carrier junk pile that died after only 7 years - No Warranty coverage, despite yearly maintenance. Replaced A/C system with Trane XR15, also upgraded thermostat to TR900 to do a better job of managing humidity(another Carrier flaw). Great system for close to 5 years. Quite and dependable - very impressed with Trane and the HVAC Company that did the install.

"I got run over by a Trane"
My less than 3 year old top of the line Trane air conditioner died. It froze solid. No freon. Unit was still under limited warranty. Trane refused to pay to replace freon lost because of a defect. I am out $257 and mad.

"Trane TAM7A0C48H41SSA Air Handler"
Contractor brought in the newest TRAIN air handler and it leaks so much aircondition in my gargage the had to reseal inside with tape and took 2 guys to shut front cover. Thier answer is it that Train manufactured this piece of junk. Trane admits it does have problems, but no one wants to send a Trane inspector to my house. Now I have to deal with a contractor who does not want to replace this crappy unit. Stay away from Trane and head aches. I might add the new Heat Pump also started making noise while contractor was working on air handler and he come off ladder because of noise. Happened again the next morning and again trying to deal with contractor to get it replaced. Has made noise again, but being told to monitor it and let him know if it occurs again.

Review:
"Trane A/C"
Late last year had a new Trane A/C System installed. The XR15 has done a great job. Now that we are hitting the high humidity summer months I am working with my contractor to deal with higher than acceptable humidity in the house. Our prior system was undersized so it ran all the time, while inefficient it did have the benefit of removing allot of humdity. The new system, while sized correctly, does not run long eneough to remove the same amount of humdity. The contracor has been great, the came out and reset some of the Comfort-R settings. I also started running a dehudifier in the basement this week. We'll see how it goes. Been impressed with the installer and the Trane hardware.

"TRANE=CRAP"
Our unit is 6 yrs old (just past the warranty) and we have had numerous problems in the last few months. We have replaced the coil (1), the valves have been changed three times, and the unit has needed to be recharged multiple times, all out of pocket. Trane has not lived up to expectations, and their customer service sucks. Trane has blamed all of the problems on outside causes. We are considering hiring a consumer attorney. P.S. While this is all happening, it has been upwards of 90 degrees outside.

"Trane will break the Bank"
If I could give it -5 stars I would. Has had major problems twice in six years. We live in Seattle so this unit is NOT over worked. First major repair the contractor covered because the unit was a little over one year old and they talked me into Trane. Now to begin the sixth summer of use, we find that the coil leaked so needs to be replaced. This also caused the TXP valve to fail. Repairs for this require the system to be completely removed and re-installed, including the furnace. Nearly $2,000 in expenses and so far it's taken three weeks. We were told the parts would take 5 days to arrive and they took two weeks. I contacted Trane who suggested that the contractor must be to blame. Trane not only charges way too much for their substandard product, but they aren't very customer friendly either. I see many reviews here for satisfied people that have had their units 5 years. I hope after year six they are as happy. Six was when ours died. Save yourself money and frustration and buy a different brand.
