"Not Reliable"
Our six year old Trane XL 16i central air conditioning system requires $1,300 in repairs. This is very frustrating since Trane bosts reliablity and quality. The TXV valve has failed which requires a complete R&R of the system. We live in Seattle so our a/c doesn't get a lot of use. I would hate to rely on TRANE if I lived in a hot climate. I would NOT BUY TRANE AGAIN. We have a two stage system which is should improve the longevity of the system. Considering the price we paid, this has been a very poor investment. It also needed some sort of repair in the first year and even though it was not under warranty, I complained enough that the HVAC contractor did not charge me. I don't recall what the problem was. AVOID TRANE

"Trane Is Junk"
I have a Trane Model TWE040E13FB0. It is 11 years old. The Unit has completely stopped working 3 times in 11 Years. I have a maintenance contract with B&B Air Conditioning & Heating Service Company, Sterling, VA. There is constant maintenance and I am now informed the unit is designed to last 10 Years and then be replaced. I now have to replace the unit after 10 years.

"On for the first time today- BAD BAD BAD"
Installed in FEB 2011- turned on for the first time on May 30, 2011. Outside unit did not work at all. Inside: incredibly noisy- can't sleep with it on- sound penetrated across the house, through doors and bathrooms into bedroom.! Two-toned hum from hell! Torture! ON all day and it only lowered the temp inside from 82 to 78. Service man claims this is the way they work and tried to blame me for not paying more than the $4500 I paid. He claims I got a "cheap unit and you got what you paid for."

"Beyond bad"
My three year old air condtioner has been through three leaky coils. Each coil involves expensive labor costs and long waits for parts. Trane's products and customer service are bitterly disappointing.

"WRONG !! "It's Hard to Stop A Trane""
Both the outside compressor unit and the inside air handler have been replaced. Just last week the compressor burnt out and was replaced.Called Trane to requested additional warranty and was told "our records show your system is currently working".If you want a longer warranty, buy it from your dealer. Great customer relations.

"TRANE NIGHTMARE UPDATE"
Well, this is an update of my post of one week ago.The leaking evaporator coil in our four month old completely new Trane 15.25 SEER A/C was replaced last Friday. It is the following Thursday.I just opened the door to the air handler closet and there's green oily fluid that resembles auto anti-freeze running down the front of the air handler cabinet from inside the unit.Next step will be a consumer attorney.I can't believe I spent so much money to buy a nightmarish headache. The so-called technicians are a bunch of inept boobs to say the least.DO NOT BUY TRANE!!!

"Our Trane puchase mistake"
We purchased a complete Trane XL15 15.25 seer A/C system in November of 2010.Mind you this was replacing a perfectly operating Bryant system that was original to our home(built 2002).We were being"pro-active" because we figured in Florida we'd probably be facing problems soon with our AC.WHAT A MISTAKE!!Four months later we need a new evaporator coil. The coil has such a bad leak it won't hold a charge overnight. It never worked satisfactorily from day one.The heat was inadequate all winter but we foolishly dealt with that.I knew there was definitely something wrong when it didn't dehumidify properly when the weather was getting hot consistently and the house was always unacceptably warm. We're waiting for a "serviceman" as I type this with the new coil(4th service visit in a week.)DO NOT BUY TRANE!!!They were always advertised as the best but they make a lousy product, have no quality control, and I don't want anyone else having the headaches we've had.

"CRAP!!!!!"
Brand new a/c ... Trane. Installed March 29, 2011. April 24, 2011, try to actually use it. IT DOESN'T WORK. It needs a new compressor. The new compressor won't be in until April 29. So, I get to try to sleep in a too warm, extremely humid house for four nights and then take another day off work. Of course, the forecast for April 29 is for temps in the 40s & 50s ... until then in the 80s with extremely high humidity. I HATE TRANE!!!!!!!!!
