"Nothing does run like a TRANE"
I had to replace the central ac unit on a reo home I recently purchased, and after some shopping around for prices I decided on a Trane. Granted, some of the commercials and jingles "nothing runs like a Trane" might have been in my head, but in the end it came down to price and I went with the xb14. I loved the price, and I really loved the installation. Easy to do, simple tools and great instructions had it up and running in a few hours (I'm not the most hands-on, so I'm sure others would have it up faster). What I like about it is the cooling and energy costs. I expected my electric bill to jump and while it went up some in the early going, once I got through the break-in period, it leveled off at less than what a neighbor spends monthly on a similarly sized home. What I don't like is the noise. It's mounted right outside a living room window (standard protocol lately on homes built in the last 15 years) and it is LOUD. The droning can be annoying when trying to watch a movie, but luckily it is far enough away from the master bedroom not to interfere with sleeping. I would buy this brand again (hopefully not for at least 10 years or more as this was around $7500 to purchase) and recommend to a friend as all AC units have an element of noise to them. All in all, a great purchase at the time with over a year of service to prove it was the right choice.

"Review of central air comfort and cost"
I would like to share my opinon with respect to the Trane XE1000 central air conditioner unit. I have owned this unit for two years and must say that I am very satisfied with both the installation and purchase cost as well as it's comfort and operational cost. Outside of the cost factor I most appreciate it's quietness and ability to keep all rooms at the same comfort level. There is no transition of temperature from one room to the next. Perhaps the only feature I am not totally happy with is the thermostat. It comes with a basic unit where on second thought I would possibly ask for at additional cost for a more modern style. I not only would reccomend this unit to a friend I already have and their reports back to me are equally positive. I would have no hesitation purchasing this unit again or any of Trane's products. I have never needed to make a repair however I feel should that be needed parts would be available and labor would be reasonable by one of Trane's many qualified service people. You not only can see the quality, you can feel it in your daily living.

"Just an Okie"
This is the best by far the most quality you could buy for dollar per dollar on any brand of equiptment. I am a licensed contractor here in Oklahoma. I have sold Rheem, worked on lots and lots and lots of Carrier and Lennox units. Don't care what they say about them. To me they are only major names and that is all!!. Trane units are the very best but you can take it for what it is my opinion.

"Trane excellent system"
Have owned Trane and Carrier units and both worked very well for me. My current system, a Trane is 7 years old and have had no problems whatsoever. I'd buy another Carrier or Trane any time. They are both good products.

"WOW - Great System"
Tired of prior brands failing so quickly I decided to go all out with a top of line brand like Trane. It was the right decision. Dual compressor, ultra high Seer, communicating system, quite, efficient, tax savings, etc....wish I would of made this choice years ago and saved myself allot of grief.

"Very happy"
Installed our new system 3 years ago. No problems at all. Replaced a Rheem systems that was only 7 years old that died on us. Our neighbor's have a Trane system and recommended we check it out. Trane is American made and they hold some unique patents. Our neighbors systems is 8 years old and they have had no issues, were 3 years in with nothing but great things to say about Trane. Our favorite feature is the Comfort-R which regulates humidity levels in the house during summer w/o blasting unneeded cold air.
