"Built like a Trane !"
New Trane A/C and Condensor installed three years ago. We live in a very humbid climate in GA, this A/C has been fantatic. No problems from day 1, has been dependable. Trane touts their patented coil design, while I can tell its designed different, its hard to tell if it will last longer. I do know that its much more efficient than our last system and that this system has not once failed us despite some long and hot summers. Highly recommend.

"Our Trane puchase mistake"
We purchased a complete Trane XL15 15.25 seer A/C system in November of 2010.Mind you this was replacing a perfectly operating Bryant system that was original to our home(built 2002).We were being"pro-active" because we figured in Florida we'd probably be facing problems soon with our AC.WHAT A MISTAKE!!Four months later we need a new evaporator coil. The coil has such a bad leak it won't hold a charge overnight. It never worked satisfactorily from day one.The heat was inadequate all winter but we foolishly dealt with that.I knew there was definitely something wrong when it didn't dehumidify properly when the weather was getting hot consistently and the house was always unacceptably warm. We're waiting for a "serviceman" as I type this with the new coil(4th service visit in a week.)DO NOT BUY TRANE!!!They were always advertised as the best but they make a lousy product, have no quality control, and I don't want anyone else having the headaches we've had.

"Great Product"
Keeps me from getting hot - what more can I ask. Large home, over 4,500sqft. Rooms that we had trouble keeping cool(ie: second floor furthest away from the blower),now are much more comfortable. I really like this product, has served use very well in the last 4 years.

"Great Choice"
My Trane is 6 years running - XR15 A/C. Nothing but compliments for how this system is made. The A/C is right outside my bedroom window, I can't hear it at night, which was a priority. The system is larger than by prevoous unit, both in tonnage and diminsions. Its been a troube free system and keeps my house cool w/o any noise/fuss. Also, had a great installer.

"You might have Chinese Drywall!!"
My daughter had a home built just a few years ago. After the lower and upper AC coils both leaked 3 times over, they found out they had Chinese Drywall. The fumes from the drywall destroys copper, etc, thus the leaks. So before you blame the AC manufacturer, check online for the signs that you might have Chinese Drywall. I feel so sorry for you if you do, but better to find out and get your family out of that environment as soon as possible.

"CRAP!!!!!"
Brand new a/c ... Trane. Installed March 29, 2011. April 24, 2011, try to actually use it. IT DOESN'T WORK. It needs a new compressor. The new compressor won't be in until April 29. So, I get to try to sleep in a too warm, extremely humid house for four nights and then take another day off work. Of course, the forecast for April 29 is for temps in the 40s & 50s ... until then in the 80s with extremely high humidity. I HATE TRANE!!!!!!!!!

"Totally undepedable"
Specified Trane equipment when we built our home in 2001 because I "thought it was the best" - certainly the most expensive. Constant problems with the furnace and the AC. In a four year period, we had 45 service calls. Granted the service calls were covered under warranty, but somehow that does not make it better when it 97 degrees sweltering and the ac breaks down on a Friday afternoon. e.g. stopped working, coils froze up numerous times, freon disappearing out of the system. Same with the furnace-Sensing relay was replaced at least five times and it always seemed to break down when the weather is the coldest. Replaced the entire system in 2005

"Upgrading an ineffencient Air Conditioner"
I have had my Trane air conditioner for about a year. I purchased it in early April of 2010 after my central air unit that was about 10 years old finally died. I live in a two story home that is approximately 2,500 square feet. The unit does a good job of keeping the living area downstairs nice and cool. It is consistent at keeping the temperature at the preselected degree. The one big sticking point with this system is that it doesn't seem to cool the upstairs as evenly. Although it does cool down the bedrooms there is definitely a distinct difference in the quality of the cooled air. As a result I have to use the ceiling fans in the bedroom and on particularly humid days I even have broken out an additional fan for added comfort. In hindsight a larger air conditioning unit would probably be more efficient for my two story home, however financially this was not an option. I have not had to do any repairs to the system since it really only had one season of use. I would definitely give this brand a try again since it has a reputation for being a quality unit and is energy efficient, however I think I'd do more research to find the proper unit to meet the needs of my home.

"Cool"
Ignore the bad attitudes....maybe these feedback forums attrack people with a compliant and not the majority who are happy.....don't know. I've had TRANE systems for over 10 years so I feel I have a good perspective on the real story. I have 4 differenct A/C systems in my 25 rentals. TRANE is the best. Zero call backs on this equipement. The other brands have been a pain - leaking coolant, compressor, noise, leaking air/handlers, circuit board issues - you name it. The same company services all my equipment and they confirm that they have much fewer problems with the TRANE Equipment, better components and quality - American Made(not made in Mexico/Asia).
