"13 year of great service"
This my 2nd home with Trane units, 2 on each home, that have run worry free for all of those years.

"Trane XL20i"
I had an XL20i installed to replace the 22 yr. old Trane that was still working. Trane had a rebate and the tax rebate was $1500. So far, so good. The unit is very quiet and the humidity control is great! The dealer had a 10 yr. Parts & Labor warranty or I would have been reluctant to buy a highly technical unit. Houston in the summer can be brutal on your budget and body. Maybe this will help both!

"Great system"
Never had a problem. I read all the bad reviews and must assume these are exceptions or had poor installation (or units are not sized properly).

"Poor installation"
I've been a contractor in the business over 28 years. Trane/American Standard is some of the best equipment out there. That being said any equipment will work properly when the application and installation is done properly. I would say most problems are from poor installation especially multiple and re-occurring problems. Of course you always have the dishonest-make a killing every time you show up types that give us all a bad name. The equipment is all the same in theoretical functions, I just find the Trane/Am Std better in quality and consistency. They also have some of the best technical assistance in the business in my experience. Contractors that can't solve issues are not willing too loose time and money to make the customer satisfied. That's why they have to pay for large adds in the phone book for new business. Their repeat business is nil. My philosophy is do a good job and the money will follow, most have it backwards. I guess that’s why I don't have to advertise and I haven't taken any new customers in a few years

"Hard to Stop a Trane"
This Trane unit has never let me down. I have never had a service call in 21 years. The only thing that I have had to replace is the starting capacitors on the condensing unit once or maybe twice in 21 years.

I have a trane xl 1200 condenser matched with a trane forced air furnace both installed new the first year in the house. It has worked very well over the years and just developed a leak in the system that i needed to have it recharged twice during the season. The unit has served me well up to this point and doesn't owe me anything.I wouldn't expect to get more that 10-12 years from a unit, they aren't designed to last forever.I would have no problem replacing with another trane, but i am changing the dry forced air heat with radiant.

We just had a complete system put in. Paid $8,800 for it, and our electric bill dropped from around 400-475 per month during the summer, to around 120 per month. In about 4 years, this unit will have paid for itself. We have the XL19I for almost a year now, and have not had a single problem with it. I love my Trane. Plus, the warranty is great! We live 10 seconds from the beach, and it will last alot longer than out last unit, which was a Carrier. That lasted a while 4 years. Money down the drain. POS.
