"11 year old Trane is perfect"
I had my ac condenser replaced 11 years ago with a Trane unit. I just change the filter every 3 months. Otherwise, it is maintenance free and keeps me cool.

"Original Unit to House"
We purchased our house 6 years ago and we're very reluctant about purchasing in the first place because the A/C unit was so old. The current homeowners assured us that they had never had problems with their unit, and boy they were right! We've owned the home 6 years now and only have had minimal yearly maintenance repairs. We've estimated the unit is around 26 years old and it still runs like a champ through our deep South heat waves! Thanks Trane!

"Trane"
I have serviced and installed commercial and residential HVAC equipment for 15 years. I also have Trane equipment in my own home that I have not had any problems with. First, let's be reasonable. There is not a manufacturer out there that does not have a problem once in a while. These machines are man-made. Second, many problems with equipment of all makes and models come from poor installations and mis-applications. Third, many problems arise from poor maintenance practices. Now, here's another point to make. Many people have complained about labor cost, however, Trane offers a 10 year parts and labor warranty but most homeowners do not wish to purchase this even though it's cost is minimal. If your equipment is under 5 years old, it may still be eligible for an extended warranty. As for calling the distributor, they are most likely not going to talk directly with the homeowner but will direct you to contact a contractor. The quality of Trane equipment has been and still is among the best in the industry. The bottom line is that if you have it sized properly, installed properly, and maintained properly you are going to have much better luck with any equipment your buy.

"Marian P. Phoenix AZ"
The unit came brand new installed by a builder in a house that was built for our family in 1996. Never a problem in 10 years that we lived in that house. Reasonable el. bills, not a single service call needed ever, total comfort summer or winter. The only maintenance was replacing the air filter. We had 17 rental properties and on every one of them we had a new a/c unit installed. Couldn't afford Trane, though. Goodman, Tempstar, Carrier, Heil,Amana and some other brands. On every one of them had a problem at least every other year. The Parts were covered, but the labor was outrageous. Got so stressful, that sold off properties one at a time. Currently live in another house with TRANExl1200. Again, very happy! Icy cold air, reasonable bills. Thank you trane! Would recommend very highly for stress -free living! If you can afford it, go with TRANE-through our vast experience with so many other brands nothing compares to these units.

"Nothing stopped my Trane"
I have had two Trane a/c units (3 ton and 5 ton) since my house was built in '91. I replaced a fan motor in the 5 ton a couple years ago but that has been it. I live in Houston which is about the absolute envirnment possible due to the heat and humidity. I am considering replacing the system due to age, inefficiency and a tax credit. My first choice will be Trane!

"XR12 AC with XR80 Gas Furnace"
Live in Las Vegas so cool ac is critical. In 2004 replaced york heat pump and ac with the Trane. Saved 30-40% on heating/cooling costs. Runs quiet and cools/heats the home (1679 Sq Ft) rapidly. I've researched many manufacturers and would agree with the hvac folks: quality installation is key to a well running system regardless of manufacturer chosen. Paid $6,000 and have 10 year parts and labor. Great system + proper install = happy customer.

"XL 1200 2.5 Ton"
The unit was installed back in 1993 with a matching indoor coil. There has not been one service call on the unit. The exterior is still in great shape, the unit is still very quiet, even compared to the new units of today. The xl 1200 has been flawless for us.

"TRANE A/C"
I owned a Trane xl 1200 for 18 years now and I have never never never had any problems with it what so ever. I cooled a 2600 square foot home with it in Pittsburgh, Pa. Just recently I replaced my furnace and air with another brand but I gave my neighbor my 2 ton xl 2000 and he just loves it compared to the cheap one he had before.
