"I got run over by a Trane"
My less than 3 year old top of the line Trane air conditioner died. It froze solid. No freon. Unit was still under limited warranty. Trane refused to pay to replace freon lost because of a defect. I am out $257 and mad.

"Trane TAM7A0C48H41SSA Air Handler"
Contractor brought in the newest TRAIN air handler and it leaks so much aircondition in my gargage the had to reseal inside with tape and took 2 guys to shut front cover. Thier answer is it that Train manufactured this piece of junk. Trane admits it does have problems, but no one wants to send a Trane inspector to my house. Now I have to deal with a contractor who does not want to replace this crappy unit. Stay away from Trane and head aches. I might add the new Heat Pump also started making noise while contractor was working on air handler and he come off ladder because of noise. Happened again the next morning and again trying to deal with contractor to get it replaced. Has made noise again, but being told to monitor it and let him know if it occurs again.

"Trane A/C"
Late last year had a new Trane A/C System installed. The XR15 has done a great job. Now that we are hitting the high humidity summer months I am working with my contractor to deal with higher than acceptable humidity in the house. Our prior system was undersized so it ran all the time, while inefficient it did have the benefit of removing allot of humdity. The new system, while sized correctly, does not run long eneough to remove the same amount of humdity. The contracor has been great, the came out and reset some of the Comfort-R settings. I also started running a dehudifier in the basement this week. We'll see how it goes. Been impressed with the installer and the Trane hardware.

"TRANE=CRAP"
Our unit is 6 yrs old (just past the warranty) and we have had numerous problems in the last few months. We have replaced the coil (1), the valves have been changed three times, and the unit has needed to be recharged multiple times, all out of pocket. Trane has not lived up to expectations, and their customer service sucks. Trane has blamed all of the problems on outside causes. We are considering hiring a consumer attorney. P.S. While this is all happening, it has been upwards of 90 degrees outside.

"Trane will break the Bank"
If I could give it -5 stars I would. Has had major problems twice in six years. We live in Seattle so this unit is NOT over worked. First major repair the contractor covered because the unit was a little over one year old and they talked me into Trane. Now to begin the sixth summer of use, we find that the coil leaked so needs to be replaced. This also caused the TXP valve to fail. Repairs for this require the system to be completely removed and re-installed, including the furnace. Nearly $2,000 in expenses and so far it's taken three weeks. We were told the parts would take 5 days to arrive and they took two weeks. I contacted Trane who suggested that the contractor must be to blame. Trane not only charges way too much for their substandard product, but they aren't very customer friendly either. I see many reviews here for satisfied people that have had their units 5 years. I hope after year six they are as happy. Six was when ours died. Save yourself money and frustration and buy a different brand.

"Need replacement part VAL 9555"
Our under warranty Trane unit needs the coil replaced which is in stock but the expansion valve is on backorder. Currently there is a 3-week wait. If you agree to pay an additional $50 (allegedly for freight) you are placed on a waiting list. If not, you will wait 6 weeks for this part. I live in the South and this, in my opinion, is very poor planning on Trane's part. Our other unit, which is not a Trane, is over 22 years old. Luckily, it is still reliable but when the day arrives it needs to be replaced, it will definitely not be a Trane! I spoke with Trane Consumer Services and am presently waiting for a supervisor to return my call. DO NOT PURCHASE A TRANE UNIT!!!

"Dissatisfied with Trane"
We put in a variable speed Trane a/c about five years ago. Despite all our efforts, we cannot get it to work in sync with the thermostat: We set the thermostat to a certain temperature, but the unit doesn't cool to that temperature. We've tried putting in a new thermostat, etc. Also the company that installed the unit (ARS) screwed up several times in the installation. At one point they installed the blower in upside down. It forced air into the intake ducts and blew dust all over the house!

Review:
"Avoid Trane - Unreliable Poor Quality"
Our "top of the line" system had to be repaired within the first year. Though Trane did not warranty the labor, the dealer fixed it for free. Now the system is six yrs old and we are putting another $1,500 repair into it. The cooling coil leaked. The coil itself is covered but not the labor. The leaking coil also caused the TXP valve to fail, which alone is a $1,200 repair. This has been a very unreliable system and we would not buy Trane if given the chance to do over. We will be building a new home and Trane will NOT be in it. They are over priced, especially for the poor quality. We live in Seattle, so it's not like this system gets over used. Our system gets used 3-4 months out of the year and seldom for an entire 24 hr day. Also, the part was suppose to take 5 days to arrive and that was two weeks ago. Save yourself some money and frustration and buy another brand. AVOID TRANE
