"Ruud A/C unit"
It’s been 20 years and still no problem at all. Just took a dump. I'll get another one. I notice that all the reviews on all the manufacturers lean to more unsatisfied than satisfied. People who are unhappy will always take time to complain. People who are happy will always take time to praise the product. This website proves it. Look at the reviews on the top models. More unhappy than happy.

My unit is 22 years old. I have replaced one contractor, and one condenser fan motor. It has now developed a refrig leak in the evap coil, so I will be changing out the unit, but it has been a good system.

"VERY GOOD SERVICE"
Ruud 3 ton ac 13 Seer unit installed in 1992. Replaced the low voltage contractor in 1998 that was chattering. Still works fine this summer. Used more in 2012 than previous years. The contractor that installed it gave me the contractor and I installed it. The Rudd furnace was installed in 1996 and only one service call it had a fuse blown. Its the 90 plus ng 105btu furnace. May move up to 16 Seer on the ac when I replace it.

Swapped out single hvac unit for a "new 610a" Dual ruud units with heating coil, live in Louisana and wanted cool zone if / when Ac goes out. House is old and the unit have not missed a beat in 3 years. they are both high effiecny top of the line Ruud units, one 4ton, the other 3ton..

I have had my Ruud air conditioner for going on 23 or 24 years.....and guess what? It still works great. Sure, I've had to have it charged once or twice, but it is working pretty well for its age....

"Rudd air conditioner's are the best!"
We have had our air conditioner for six months. I like that it is a little oversized for our house, so it cools the house down in one minute. We had people tell us it was too big for our house, but it works like a dream! It's not cold and humid and wet in our house, it is just perfectly cool! We don't turn it on all the time, just when it is really hot out. Even then it cools the house down in no time at all. We have a digital thermostat hooked up to it and all we have to do is set it and forget it. the only thing we disliked about it is that we had to install it ourselves. We would buy the same brand again in a second. We would definately recommened the brand to a friend, rudd has a long standing tradition of being one of the best air conditioners there is.

A/C broke down again on Labor day weekend. It never fails. Just out of warranty by 3 months. First, the A/c has such a hard time trying to cool the house during daytime hours. Has broke down 3 times, once circuit board, once for circuit breaker in handler, now needs a new fan motor in compressor. By now I could have bought another unit.

"Our old unit / our new unit"
Our old 2.5 ton unit has lasted 25 years before it started puking water because of clogged coils. It was trouble free up to this point. We bought another 2.5 ton Rudd and paid the extra $250 for the more efficient motor, which actually appears to be inclusive of 2x's the amount of evap coils on the outside unit. Both units have a 10 year warranty. It runs much quieter and pulls more air through the filter so changing it every month may be necessary. After reading the rating it seemed obvious that having trained, knowledgeable installers would avoid a lot of problems so we went to an established local dealer. We discovered the problem on Sunday. The new unit was up and running by Wednesday afternoon.

"Ruud Air Conditioning -- a VERY reliable brand!"
I have owned my Ruud Air Conditioner for more than nine years. I have been VERY satisfied with it. It has consistently cooled(and heated in winter) our home in a timely manner. We have only had to have one repair in all these years. Last summer the air conditioner needed to have its Motor Run Capacitor replaced. It was a fairly inexpensive part to replace, and so simple that we were talked through the changing of the part over the phone by a knowledgeable friend!! The summers here get VERY hot, and it is important to my family to be able to cool the house quickly, and to keep it cool. Our Ruud does that well! The first few years owning this air conditioner our house was not insulated well, but it still did the job! And after all these years, I see no sign of it slowing down. I would very confidently recommend the Ruud Air Conditioner to a friend!
