"Proper Install Matters the Most"
I just had a Lennox XC14 installed that replaced a 1 year old Goodman unit. I love how quiet the new unit is and it does a very good job on cooling. The reason why you have problems all the time is because 90% of all these problems are due to improper installation or wrong equipment size. The company who installed our unit is top rated in my area and they take pride in their work. Please, stop blaming brand. It won't get you anywhere. Choose a better contractor.

"Great System"
I love how quiet my new a/c system is. My old Trane system was so noisy that I couldn't even sit on my back porch when it was running. Not to mention my electric bills are half of what they were before. Great system, and I can't wait to replace my main level system.

"Not always equipment."
Just a word to the wise. No matter what brand equipment you have installed, if not installed properly problems will occur. With the new a/c refrigerant,410A units are not compatible with older r22 systems. You can not put a new 410a condenser ( outside unit) with an older r22 blower coil (inside unit). Also refrigerant piping should be replaced. Oil in new units are not compatible with oil in older units. Noisy units. If whistling is coming from blower or furnace, this is not necessarily equipment problem. Could be sign of inadequate air flow which is caused by to small duct work, not enough supply or return. Yes Lennox as all manufactures have problems time to time with there equipment. But also many of these problems are caused by equipment installed improperly. Know who your contractor is! "my unit"
Lennox Product... I am satisfied ,, Bought my home in 99 unit was 4 years old. Heat, A/C and air scrubber... all are serviced by me, and only one issue in all this time, with research. I repaired it my self for low dough, 17 year old unit, works better than my buddy's brand new construction home w/ a carrier unit he has already called twice for service.

"Great System"
We have had our Lennox System for a few years & find our system has not given us any problems. We do regular maintanance and this system works great. This was a new custom home and we did our research & hired the right contractor to design the system and it has been the correct thing to do. Our utilties on 2800 square foot on budget billing are $180.00 a month. So the ones with bad reviews either bought cheaper systems or did not have the right contractor. We would have had the same results with Carrier or Trane. I believe its all in how its installed and the quality of the product you buy.

"Very Reliable... just wore out after 22 years"
If this (or any) unit is installed and maintained, it should run for its life. I've used this unit for 22 years - Lennox - and finally it just isn't worth recharging. The system doesn't 'owe' me anything - very reliable but the new high efficiency units make this one now obsolete. Been very satisfied with its performance... but like an old car sometimes you just need to 'move on' and get the gains the next generation offers.

"Best there is"
I have an older Lennox system that I got used. It is the first air conditioning system I ever installed. I am now a Lennox dealer and have seen no issues with our Lennox installs. Some of the issues posted here lead me to believe the problems are installer related. Noise is typically from undersized duct work. Improperly installed traps or drains will cause water leakage. Refrigerant will leak from badly braised connections...I Have seen all of these problems and more with different systems over the years. Your installer may have been the low bidder, may not be completely truthful about what his repairs are, and may need a few more years of working for a competent service company before going into business. The previous Lennox installer in this area was competent and knowledgable. As a result of his proper installations we are servicing Lennox units that are close to 50 years old. Lennox is still a top of the line brand. Built like a tank.

"You can blame the equipment or the guy who put it in."
Most homeowners who have a problem will blame the brand name not the cheap hack who put it in. If you have a cheap contractor install your equipment expect it to run poorly.
