Overview of the HSXA19

The Lennox HSXA19 is a two-stage cooling unit offering up to 19.20 SEER. Available in five models, this unit is Energy Star qualified and also holds the Good Housekeeping Seal.

With noise levels as low as 69 decibel, Lennox promotes the HSXA19 as one of the quietest units available on the market. A fan grill with sound suppression, an insulated compressor compartment and the manufacturer’s SilentComfort technology help contribute to the unit’s soft operation.

This model also features Lennox's System Operations Monitoring, an onboard diagnostics system that allows for quick service and troubleshooting. HSXA19 can also be paired with the SignatureStat Home Comfort Control for increased air control and dehumidification. The outdoor coil and two-stage compressor also reportedly contribute to the unit’s efficiency.

"Lennox Sucks!!"
We purchased a new Lennox system 4/2010 and have had issues with the system from the start. The compressor went out on 1/2011. There is way too much evaporation. The company that installed it has been wonderful and no longer sells Lennox anything due to customer complaints and call backs and warranty work that Lennox is not willing to compensate them for. This is bad business! Do not buy Lennox.

"Problems with Lennox"
Purchased Lennox ac and furnace nearly 2 years ago to replace over 25-year-old units that were in the house we bought 8 years ago. We have already had more trouble with the new Lennox than we did during the 8 years living with the old. Had to replace circuit board 2 weeks ago with a cost near $300 to replace even though under warranty. Now another problem as sprung up with a blower motor, also under warranty, but will cost nearly $500 to replace for labor involved. Wish we hadn't bought the Lennox products.

Other HSXA19 Reviews

Lennox cooling units have mixed reviews across the web. Several homeowners on central-air-conditioner-and-refrigeration.com note they have had their Lennox air conditioner for multiple years with no problems to report. With proper installation and regular maintenance, they say, the unit cools effectively and efficiency for years.

Other homeowners complain of frequent problems with their XSXA19 cooling unit. System leaks, frequent and expensive repairs, and a short warranty are among the issues cited. Poor installation or installation of the wrong size unit, contractors note, could be the cause of these reoccurring system errors.

Several homeowners also mention of the lack of customer service from Lennox dealers. One consumer even warned against how some dealers may advertise the efficiency of the HSXA19 too high and fail to mention that only one model receives up to 19.20 SEER.
