"Quality of Installation VS Quality of Equipment"
I am amazed at the negative reviews posted about Goodman and Amana equipment. I have been in this business for over 40 years, and would advise you that, most of the horrible experiences that consumers relate are caused by the installing contractor and not the equipment manufacturer. Your first and most important selection should be the installing contractor. If you get this part right, you can be sure that he/she will not sell you a poor quality unit. Why would they? Lastly, my experience is that Goodman products are the best value equipment on the market. There are more expensive units available, but the higher price that you pay will go for national brand advertising and dealer rebate trips to Hawaii!

"Listen Up People.."
I've read a lot of reviews on here hearing people say Goodman/Amana equipment is terrible. This is simply not the case. A lot of you are complaining about your compressor going out. If you (or your contractor) would have registered the equipment online, this would be way less of a hassle than it has to be. We stand by our equipment with 10 year parts, 10 year unit replacement, lifetime compressor replacement and lifetime heat exchanger replacement. The problems you are all running into are with half assed contractors. I see them and load their equipment up every day. You need to do really in depth research before you pull out your phonebook and choose the "right looking" company. If they come to your residence or business looking like slobs, you'll get sloppy half assed work. On the other side of the token, there are really good contractors out there that I sell equipment to daily or every other day. Those are the guys I would trust. Do your research people!

"Stop Blaming the Brand for All of These Problems!"
People who have had bad experience with Goodman are people who had units not properly installed. That's what the problem is here. Homeowners blame the brand when their unit breaks down. It is 100% that these were installation and/or size issues and not Goodman's fault. I like Goodman equipment and I work for company who is family-owned and operated and has been in the business for over 20 years. Do yourself a favor, find someone certified to install your system. Goodman is not junk like it used to be back then. They are the best. Don't overpay for Trane. A poorly installed Trane will break down too. Every brand fails. Choose a quality installer.

"Wow"
Wow! Has anyone ever heard of the phrase as its only as good as the installer. I have been selling all goodman equipment and never had any problems with them. If it is installed correctly it will last as long as the rest . One person wrote that the company used the wrong soldier ,ok that's his problem not equipment failure and by the way you can buy a warranty to up to 10 yr parts and labor at a very reasonable price. One other thing maybe get a better contractor to do the repairs right the first time

"Don't Focus on Brand. Choose a Good Quality Installer!"
First of all I will say that I'm extremely satisfied with my two Goodman DSXC18 A/C units. They are matched up with variable-speed furnaces and both systems are whisper quiet. You wanna know why I have had good experience? Simply because I used a very well-known company to install the units. The techs took pride in their work and they made sure everything was top quality. Here's the problem, 99% of these bad reviews are due to bad installation and/or too big or too small equipment. You will find that Goodman uses the same components as other brands. You are basically comparing apples to apples. Please, find yourself someone who actually knows what they are doing to repair or install your unit. Selecting a good installer is the most important factor of choosing a new HVAC system. Brand means nothing.

"I Read Some of the Reviews and Quite Surprised"
I read some of the reviews and quite surprised. I have had a Goodman for 12 years and only serviced a couple of times. I have a 2300 square foot under air and my utility bill has been amazing. The Goodman I have seems to be fine for not servicing on a yearly basis and the savings is great. I am having some issues now but it is 12 years old and I run my unit year round. I live in Florida and I plan to buy another Goodman. I hope it will be fine too.

"Love this Unit"
I had a Sears A/C system that had been installed by my brother and a few of his friends to save money 27 years ago. It never worked correctly. It would run continuously and not keep up with the heat rising. I purchased a Goodman furnace and A/C unit as my furnace was also 27 years old. I will say I am quite happy. The unit quickly cools down and my utility bills are not out of sight. When the professional installer saw the way the old unit was installed, he just shook his head. I am sold that the results are in the professional install.

"Goodman"
Had a Goodman heating and a/c unit installed in my new house in 1997. Over that time the fan motor on the ac unit was replaced in 2008 for $300.00 The ac died after being under 2 ft of water from Sandy. The heater is still running without problems. I am putting in another Goodman ac and hope it gives me the same service. Were they made better years ago??

"Nothing but Great experience -- very satisfied homeowner"
I had a Goodman installed two years ago. So far it has brought my utilities down and we've never felt more comfortable than ever with the new system. People you need to smarten up. It's not Goodman's fault for all of these break downs. It is the original installer!!!!! 90% of these bad reviews are due to poor install. a lot of times it's the size of the equipment as well. Our Goodman was installed by a top rated company in our area, and they stand behind their work. The tech told me that Goodman does not make the internal components. They only make the cabinet, coils, and heat exchangers. He also said that the copeland scroll compressors used in the newer Goodman A/C's and heat pumps are also used in Rheem/Ruud, Carrier/Bryant, etc. Seriously, a class action law suite won't go anywhere because you are blaming the problems on Goodman when the problem was not caused by Goodman. Even a Trane installed poorly will break down all the time. The key to the life of a unit is proper install and proper size. Ductwork also needs so be sized and installed properly. Oh yeah, you can't beat Goodman's warranties, especially if you step up to the Amana line. Remember, hvac/r is not a diy trade. Brands don't matter, it's all about the guy putting it in. No brand is better than another.

"13 years and never a problem"
I bought a new house in 1999 with a Goodman a/c and Furnace. Not one issue in 13 years. I did service on it twice in 13 years (just thought I should). The tech looked at me both times and said "Nothing for me todo". No freon charges, no electrical issues, no blower issues... nothing. If you like drama and excitement in your life..don't buy this unit. It is boring...It just work
