Been installing them for years. No problems with them. (Must be the install) Install a time delay and a start kit and follow the install guide closely.

"best unit on the market"
Went to the dump one day, found a Goodman cooling & heating unit. Took it home to strip it and neighbor said let's hook it up to see if it works, so we did. It's been in my shop now for 8 years with not the first problem. Of course, I clean the coils every year and change filter once a month. Maybe some of these dumb asses would learn to maintain their unit, they wouldn't have so many problems with it. GOODMAN is #1 in my book.

"Quality installation most important"
I am a mechanical contractor and Goodman makes quality ac and furnaces. All the parts on these units are the same as any other. Do not blame the equipment. Make sure the units are properly sized and installed.

"goodman units are as good as the installer"
If your installer does not pressure test after soldering the refrigerant lines, then how can you expect not to have problems. Also, they should know the ashrae code for installing an HVAC unit. I have installed and repaired all types of units and these and Rheem are better than Trane or Carrier.

"Goodman System Works Fine"
Used best installer I could find. Equipment easily cools home in summer and heats it up just fine in the winter. Dealer included the best warranty coverage.

"Installation matters!!"
I am a heating and cooling contractor and when the A/C went out in my house, I replaced it with a Goodman unit. The Goodman equipment has improved greatly over the past several years. All of their equipment has 10 year warranty on parts. These posts you see with low freon, coils freezing, leaks, etc. etc. are all due to poor installation. Trust me, to get a warranty part from Goodman ,it is as simple as taking the old part back to the distributor and they give you a brand new one. All you have to do is have the model, serial, and homeowners info. Simple. 90% of these people bitching about Goodman should be complaining to the company that installed it because those contractors do not know what they are doing!!!

"South Texas Goodman"
Had a Goodman split unit installed about 5 years ago. Have never had any problems until tonight. Looked on their website for warranty lookup. This portion of website was not working. I am more dissatisfied with their website than their product. Have never had any problems other than now.

I am an air conditioning contractor. I have 2 Goodman split AC systems in my house with gas furnaces. These units run and cool with no problems. The biggest issue with any equipment is the installing contractor. Many contractors do poor work, and they do not offer long term labor coverage. We offer a 10 year labor with any new system. Goodman has a 10 year warranty minimum on all their products. All mechanical equipment will fail from time to time, but with an investment of this magnitude, labor coverage is key. Goodman is fine. Check reviews on Trane, Carrier, and Lennox. Trane and Lennox scored 2 of 5. Goodman and Carrier scored 3 of 5. What does that tell you. Thank Goodness for Goodman!!!
