"Great looking and running unit."
My Goodman has been great so far. It replaced a 22 year old Bryant unit. That in the last 5 years of having it, needed to be repaired twice and only put out 70° at the register. Great unit to last that long. I wanted a 3 ton unit, but my contractor said go with 2.5 as 3 ton was too big. So I got the 2.5, 13 seer. I thought $3000 was a good deal for the unit, pad, 7k heater coil, other things and installed. My house is right under 1400sq ft, so he was probably right. Now my air is 54° at the register. Boy has my power bill dropped. Registered online with Goodman, so my 10 year warranty is good to go. Unit still looks brand new. Now I'm scared of copper thieves.

"Contractors View"
I am a contractor with 39 years in the industry. I am not associated with any brand of equipment other than I sell what I want to. I want the same thing that every homeowner wants: an efficient reliable system with an excellent warranty for a good price. Thats all you can ask of any manufacturer. I have found that any problems such as coils, reversing valves, boards, compressors, capacitors, txv'S...you name it...ALL The manufacturers face the same issues at one time or another. The fact is, I no longer see "junk" being made by any of the brands. Goodman has proven to be as good if not better in many cases than many of them. Also don't forget that most homeowners want the best price up front that they can get and Goodman is very reasonably priced although they are not the cheapest. Point is, they go with a cheap contractor that may not even be licensed. Why would you want to make an investment for thousands of dollars and have an idiot install it to save a few hundred dollars? That is usually (not always) the reason for equipment failure. All things considered, Goodman is a very good value...that is why I am so happy with them. Yes, I sell Trane, Lennox, Rheem and Carrier (Bryant) and others. I always recommend Goodman as the value leader. Their other brand, Amana has the best warranty in the industry for a few hundred more. Bottom line, Goodman bashers have in most cases had a bad experience due to inferior installation technique! A beautiful looking job is only as good as the installer and how he did it that day. It sucks I know, but thats the cold hard truth. I recommend you check out your contractor with the bbb, get referrals, do some research on proper installation and ask a lot of questions!!!

"Awesome"
When looking to replace my ac unit I did plenty of research and found a lot of bs out there with regards to this brand. I knew all the big brands and felt like I was paying for the name and after looking into it I found that Goodman really was the best value. It wasn't the cheapest or most expensive but it has the best warranty out there and cost me less than a comparable Trane, Lennox or Carrier unit. People told me to not buy Goodman but I think I made the best choice...I Call them the Hyundai of the hvac world cause they kick butt on warranty and they back it up. Also I heard they are the biggest unit seller in the country to boot.

"works great"
My 5 ton units works great, I got a 13 seer unit and wish I bought the 16. My electric bill was cut by half with this new unit (old unit was a 10 seer). The guy who installed it was a true pro. He told me that the wire going to my unit was too low a gauge and I should go to a 10 gauge wire. I went to 8 and have never had a problem with it. My only regret now that electricity costs have gone up so high with Obama is that I didn't get the 16 seer. Spend the extra money and get the 16 and have a competent guy install it.

"15 years of uninterrupted service"
Honestly, I think most of these reviews are written by people who are paid by other manufacturers. Some of the stuff being said here is horse pookey written by idiots. If you live in the dessert and it is 110 degrees outside there is no way to cool your house to 72. Impossible. It all comes down to the installation and having a little common horse sense.

"Air Conditioning Review"
We have had our central air conditioning unit since we moved into our house in 2003 so its been about 8 years since we inherited the thing. For the most part there have been very few problems with it. It always does the job cooling the house relatively quickly when we decide to to turn it on which is all we really want from it. There are not too many negatives. One is that sometimes when we put it on and there is a distinct smell that comes from the vents but that is probably just from a lack of cleaning. We had to repair it once or twice throughout the years and it cost about one hundred and fifty dollars each time but only twice in eight years is pretty good. After each repair the air went back to normal. I would definitley buy the same brand again and would recommend Goodman brand central air conditioning units to anyone (friends, family, co-workers, etc).

"Very happy"
I replaced a 16 year old Trane system that needed constant repair with the new Goodman gmvm96 Furnace, Goodman dsxc18 ac, and ComfortNet ctk01aa Thermostat approximately three months ago. I am very pleased with my system. I was able to get high end premium features at a fair price, not overpriced. The system is very quiet (I can talk on the phone standing next to the ac Unit). The two stage ac, variable furnace make my home noticeably more comfortable. I especially like the adjustable air circulating fan speed for summer use/balance. I was the second home in my area to get the new modulating furnace, my installer was very impressed with it and has installed several since based on his experience at my house. I would definitely buy this system again and recommend to friends. I have no reservations about choosing Goodman.
