"My life with a Goodman"
I have my Bryant unit replaced with a Goodman and in 15 years I had one service call. I have two other units which I seldom use, both Train and had a service call on one of them after 5 years of operations. I should have had put Goodman units in when I added on to the house, but I had no knowledge of their quality. I do now.

"great a/c"
This is the best A/C unit I have ever had. It is very quite and doesn't run allot to cool my house. I have never had a service call and never had it freeze up and quit when it was hot out. Buy a Goodman A/C and have it installed right and you will never have a service call.

"Home owner"
I have owned this house sense it was new 9 years ago and I am planning to replace my unit with a Lennox only because I got a good deal on it. The Goodman has held up to the AZ Phoenix summers very well and only recently has the performance gone down and the cost gone up, other than that the unit has performed well. Like some of the techs that have commented, some of you should check out your service company’s before you have them do work for you.

"No Problems with my Goodman"
I have 2 Goodman A/C’s after dumping my Lennox'S. Never had a problem. Great price, great cooling. I am sorry to hear about all the people having problems but maybe you should scrutinize your service companies before condemning Goodmans,

"Goodman's are good when installed proper"
I've been installing Goodman furnaces and Central A/C for over 7 years and never had a compressor failure nor major issue as stated in many of these postings. I also believe that most of these failures that the people on these posting have experienced is due to a lack of know how by their installers. From past experience I have found that many of these contractors tend to undersize or oversize the units and also use improper duct sizing. I find that 14 seer and over are surprisingly quiet for their size.

"J Badgley"
I have been in the HVAC field for 40 years. I have worked for a utility company's service department for 38 years. We repaired Goodman equipment and in general they are simple to repair and very reliable. Proper installation is the key to good running equipment. The installer must read the installation manual! I inspected new installations for the utility and you would be surprise on how many installers don't read the manuals. I am going to replace my AC system with a Goodman because they give you bang for the buck. Also I replace my equipment every 9 years. Technology changes and efficiency improves. It pays to upgrade if you can afford it.

"Good units for the money"
Had 2 Goodman units in the house when we moved in 12 years ago, 1 gas pack downstairs and 1 split for upstairs. Both lasted 12/13 years with virtually no problems. Recently replaced both with the new Goodman units (13 seer), working great so far and saving on electric bills too. Was told by my HVAC guy who I trust 100% that Goodman bought out Amana a few years back and began using their designs, especially for heat exchangers, which are excellent. Like any brand, a proper installation is critical for longevity/performance.

"Goodman As Good as it Gets"
We installed a Goodman 2.5 ton a/c Furnace combination to replace a five year old Carrier system. Our energy bills dropped by 15% and our home was never cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Great product that has performed flawlessly

"GOOD UNITS"
I'm in Florida and I repair and install A/C units, I personally have two 3 1/2 Goodman units at my place of business for at least 10 years. The building has no insulation, and its made out of metal, which are very hard on A/C's no matter what brand. After reading some of your complaints it sounds to me like some of you just had shitty companies out to service your units, and it sounds to me like some units are undersized which builders tend to do sometimes. Be careful about companies (techs) bad mouthing other brands and other companies just to sell you a complete unit so they can make more commission, my two sons work for a big company here in town and this companies motto is sell, sell, sell!!! I went to a house to give a second opion which I do alot and another big company had told them the Goodman unit which was 4 years old was a piece of junk and they would sell them a new Trane unit for $6500.00. They got lucky and got my number from one of my long time customers, so I went out and found out by the serial number that it was under warranty and repaired it for $300.00 that was 3 years ago and the unit runs great so far. Always get at least 3 different quotes and ask allot of questions. Needles to say I have gotten allot of referrals from this family. Face it Americans, no matter what brand of air conditioners or appliances you buy. THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THEM TO LAST ANYMORE!!!! As a final comment, remember that servicing you’re A/C every 6 months for $89.00 in my area, will go a long way towards a long lasting and efficient unit. Be advised make sure you ask questions and keep an eye on the tech for they will do an incomplete job to get to the next job.
