"stop complaining"
I work at a heating and air company. There is no brand of a/c that does not require any servicing. Actually, most of these folks saying problems that are 8 months a part. That's very good. In fact, many other brands have needed service every few months in some cases most frequently. We know its inconvenient and you never want to not have a/c but please don't write any bad reviews because it needed fix ups! Every unit ever has probably needed fixed one way or another. As for the person who quoted 'a reputable dealer said never put Amana in your home first off why not say the dealer? Secondly any hvac dealer knows a/c units break a lot! Must of been a new guy who thought he knew it all.

"Great Buy"
Replaced my 6 year old trane last year with a tax credit Amana. It has lifetime replacement warranty so I thought I could not go wrong. Power bill went down $125 per month and I kept it on 75 degrees. System still working great. Got prices from Trane and Carrier but the Amana ASX16036 was a little cheaper and got better warranty.

"Horrible"
We purchased this new home 6 years ago and had nothing but trouble with this unit. First low on freon, 4 months later replaced evap coil: $1,006. 8 Months later repaired blower moter: $469.00. Now 2 months later not sure what is wrong but the outside fan stopped running, ugh!!!

"UNSATISFIED"
My home has 3 Amana units installed by the home builder. I have been in this brand new home for 5 years and have had nothing but trouble with all three units. Had to replace three outside fan motors on two units and already replaced 2 coils. Just informed that two coils are leaking again and need to be replaced! Warranty paid for parts the first two times but I had to pay labor. This time, the warranty is expired. I told my a/c guy that I am going to replace all three units and will never purchase another Amana product again!

"Model ASX130481CA"
Although I like how the unit performs when it works, it seems to have a morbidly high failure rate. Connectors burning open on the condenser because the crimp-on-only connectors are underrated. The simple application of a little bit of solder to the connectors at assembly time would absolutely cure this issue, and vastly improve Amana's overall reputation, which right now must be near zero as service technicians scramble in record-breaking heat to fix stupid design flaws. Come on now, gimme a break!

"Really works well!"
Wow, either you love it or hate it. My new Amana system that I had installed a few years ago works very nice and lowered my electric bill less than 1/2. It could be 105 outside and I keep my a/c at at 75 with no problems. No matter what anybody says, Amana is good equipment and do recommend it to all my friends. I shopped long and hard before I spent my hard earned money. Amana by far has the best warranty with Lifetime compressor with copper tubing, Lifetime heat exchanger uses stainless steel, 10 year parts and 1 year labor as standard. Would buy it again. My neighbor has a 3 year old Trane with nothing but problems. His system struggles to keep it at 80. But I really think the contractor he hired was not very good. So maybe its not fair to say its the Trane equipment?

"Horrible Equipment"
I had an Amana ac unit installed in my house a year 1/2 ago and have had nothing but problems. The unit has had to be serviced six times. We are now at the point that we are having to have the compressor replaced because it continues to lock up. Amana was replaced by a home warranty company who I believe found the cheapest ac equipment they could find so they would be paid 100% by the home warranty company for both equipment and labor. I have had a reputable ac company come out and evaluate the problems and they said the problem is the equipment and that they would not recommend putting Amana in any home.

"NOISY OUTDOOR UNIT"
Very noisy outdoor compressor/heat exchanger unit. It's my opinion that inexpensive units like this Amana which the builder installed is noisier than more expensive units, but I don't have a way of comparing apples and apples.

"DON'T Buy, This is JUNK"
I have had problems with my unit every year. I keep it in great shape and there is problem after problem. Warranty is terrible. They do not pay for labor, only to replace parts, but there are huge labor expenses to detect the problem each time. Do not buy this unit. It is junk.
