"Extremely Pleased With System"
I had an Amana ASXC18 installed 2 years ago and it has not broke down yet. The unit is extremely quiet (I enjoy having conversations with my neighbors and not hearing the A/C unit as we are standing 10 feet away from it). I've read some pretty nasty comments on here. Some of the techs on here say it's all about installation and I guess they are right. So far I have seen a big drop in electric bills and the unit cools the house great. Going with a smaller unit was a great choice since bigger isn't better and our old system was oversized (That's probably why it lived a short life). The variable speed air handler is a must-have. The company who installed the system did an excellent job and made sure everything was working the way it should. I would recommend Amana to anyone and I have so far to my neighbors. Couldn't be any happier.

"Been Okay"
Don't know the series, model says RSB on it. It's 10 years old and has stood up well except for the fan needing a cap when it stopped working.

"Stay Away"
These are cheaply made units and not very durable. A/C companies install these cheap units and make a lot of money. Our unit needed a whole control board after a few years of use, and now, one compressor will not turn and makes a horrid noise.

"Amana Poor Quality Inexcusable"
2 of the homes we own had Amana air conditioners installed within the past 6 or so years. Both Amana units have leaked refrigerant repeatedly and cost us hundreds or dollars to replace refrigerant. Very very disappointed we chose Amana. We will now have to bear the cost of replacing the whole systems to overcome the constant cost of incurring hundreds of dollars to replace refrigerant. Do not buy Amana air conditioning products! I guess I'm sadly not surprised a North American manufacturer would take hard earned dollars from people in exchange for a product that is so unreliable.

"A Coil Prone to Leaks"
Don't buy this brand. Buy window units until you save up enough for a better quality brand. Had to refill with refrigerant each season. Replaced a coil and the new one leaks also. No issues with the furnace, yet.

"Run don't Walk Away from AMANA AC"
Run don't walk away from Amana AC. Ours had a leak after 3 years. With any luck yours will not break in July nor August. Ours broke in May. Would never buy AMANA anything. They produce subquality products. Hope you buy the labor warranty and parts warranty. You still will pay for the extra like expensive refrigerant and service to evacuate and test.

"I Have 2 ASX14 Seer Amana Systems"
I have 2 ASX14 seer Amana systems in my home. They are great! Much better than the Trane- junk they took out. My electric bill also went down almost half! I had my contractor Triskele management 732-709-7770. They have installed my house and 3 of my friends' house here in New Jersey. The contractor knowledge has a lot to do with it. Not the equipment. "It's all about proper install"
People, you need to learn that 90% of these bad reviews are due to improper installation and/or wrong sized of equipment. I've been a contractor for over 25 years and we have had no issues with Goodman/Amana. In fact, we have had more issues with Trane than any other brand. Amana is assembled here in the United States of America. I have an Amana ASXC18 in my own home and I love the system. It's so quiet you don't even know that it’s on. Amana has some of the best warranties out there. Find yourself a better contractor because you blaming your problems on a brand when it was the previous installer's fault. Don't always go with the cheapest bid.

"Very disappointed"
17 months after installation, the compressor bound up. The serviceman insisted that the best remedy was to add an after-market "hard-start" compressor saver -- to the tune of $400!! Apparently this happens all the time -- I called the local distributor who had over 200 of thee "hard- start" devices in stock. Why in the world a company like Amana who's been making central air units for decades can't engineer a decent product beyond me. Goodbye forever, Amana -- and Goodman.

"Never Amana again!"
I had an Amana Model RCC48C2C installed in my new build last 2005. I have maintained contact service since 2006 on all major appliances. Well, here we are in 2013 I had to replace one entire unit (I have two units one for each floor). I asked the installer about the Amana, quoting ..."a piece of crap" not his exact words but you get my drift. On my next build I will be diligently involved in all selection of what I want in my home, I never wanted to have a chance to spend another $7200 bill after 8 yrs!!
