Overview of the AFAIR10B

The Aire-Flo Afair 10B air conditioner is a discontinued 10 SEER unit that was manufactured in 1.5- to 5-ton capacities. Information dating to 2004 notes that the 10B is designed with a top discharge and is equipped with a Copeland compressor. The compressor has internal pressure relief valves and thermal protection. Heat transfer is enhanced by the use of copper tubing with louvered fins in the condenser coilís design.

The pre-painted cabinet, made from a heavy gauge-material, provides protection from corrosion. Risk of moisture damage and damage to the compressor is further reduced by the unitís liquid line-filter drier. The unit incorporates a Nailtex hail guard to protect the fins from hail and debris.

"Choices"
The people who are having problems with their units typically are in the position because of two reasons: 1- being too cheap and 2, hiring Joe blow whom does not know what the heck he is doing. The equipment is not to blame.

Other AFAIR10B Reviews

Online reviews are scarce for Aire-Floís Afair 10B. In general, technicians consider Lennoxís Aire-Flo brand to consist of bottom-line, builder-grade products.

Among the few issues posted to an allexperts.com online discussion forum is a problem one homeowner has with his unit when the temperature outside drops to 50 degrees or below. The 5-year-old builder-installed unit begins whistling and groaning in the cooler temperatures. At start up, it blows cold air that turns warm after about a minute, the homeowner says. It is suggested by one HVAC professional that the problem could be the compressor, which can be a costly repair.
